For every child, how can you make a difference?

Activities and Tasks:

  • Develop 5 short narratives for parents on Disobedience/Breaking house rules, inclusive of stealing, Spending most of the time watching TV/playing computer games, Refusing food or not having it on time, Repeatedly asking questions and Being awake past bedtime in English
  • Translate the the above to Sinhala and Tamil, and ensure both Sinhala and Tamil versions hold the same tone and style of the English version
  • Develop 5 animated videos/graphics on selected topics for parents
  • Translate the the above to Sinhala and Tamil, and ensure both Sinhala and Tamil versions hold the same tone and style of the English version
  • Support organizing and facilitating a webinar series for parents
  • Any other related task assigned by the supervisor of the contract

    Work relationships:

The completion of the above tasks will be the responsibilities of the consultant. UNICEF will however assist the consultant to meet with different government officials through the provision of letters and referrals. UNICEF Zone Offices will also facilitate visit to agencies/institutions in their respective zones, if necessary.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…****For every Child, you demonstrate…

  1. Education: University educated (degree level)
  2. Specialist skills/Training: Exceptional English language writing skills. Experience in journalism, PR, communications including writing or copy editing required. Familiarity with ECD and parenting, and experience in writing on these subjects will be an advantage.
  3. Years of experience: Minimum 5 years experience in a relevant field – parenting, producing on-line content
  4. Competencies: Exceptional English language writing skills; ability produce graphics/animated videos
  5. Languages required: Fluency in English is mandatory, fluency in Sinhala/Tamil will be an added advantage.

Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
