Organizational Setting

The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.

Reporting Lines

The NAITS Help Desk Support Persons shall report to and operate under the overall supervision and responsibility of the FAO Representative in Georgia, the direct supervision of the Technical Advisor and the project Budget Holder and in collaboration with the Deputy Team Leader of GCP/GEO/009/SWI project, and in cooperation with other staff of the FAO in Georgia.

Technical Focus

Provide technical expertise for the appropriate planning, development and implementation of the FAO project and timely delivery of the project outputs.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The NAITS Help Desk Support Persons will have the overall responsibility to support the implementation of the NAITS national rollout, ensuring that all relevant queries from the NAITS users are timely answered and issues are timely addressed. The functions of the Help Desk will include but not be limited to the below:

  • Ensure communication with the system users, answer questions and queries as required, provide feedback and instructions or report issues related to the NAITS operation team. Provide feedback to users once reported issues have been resolved;
  • Disseminate information among the system users regarding any outstanding technical issues, updates and changes of the NAITS;
  • Maintain the NAITS manuals in line with user requirements and feedback, as well as changes in the system (review, provide comments and edit once agreed with NAITS team);
  • Actively participate in the NAITS system testing process and implement test scenarios for each module as requested;
  • Review Georgian versions of the NAITS labels and provide recommendations on improvement as required.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements

  • University diploma preferably in technical fields, etc.
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience preferably in animal identification/registration
  • Working knowledge of English and Georgian (mother tongue)
  • National of Georgia or resident in the country with a regular work permit
