Duties and Responsibilities 1. Background:

The mandate of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is to promote sustainable and inclusive development and regional connectivity in the Asian and Pacific region. ESCAP's role as a regional development arm of the United Nations Secretariat is to support its membership with policy-oriented research and analysis, normative support and technical assistance and capacity building, to respond to the development priorities and changing needs of the Asian and Pacific region.

In order to deliver on its mandate, easily adapt to change, and increase the impact of its work, ESCAP seeks to continuously innovate its knowledge products, culture, and internal processes. ESCAP corporate innovation efforts are led by an inter-divisional team that promotes internal innovation activities to enhance the impact of ESCAP’s work in the region. Through dedicated innovation activities, the team contributes to shaping the organization’s culture; promoting cross-collaboration among divisions and staff; and exposing staff to digital tools and innovation methodologies to improve ESCAP’s products and services.

ESCAP’s Innovation Team is organizing a Youth Special Event during the next Asia and the Pacific Forum for Sustainable Development on 31 March 2022. In order to promote the event and the Youth challenge launched in the weeks ahead the event, the production of promotional multimedia material is needed. The team is also supporting the Survey project that will also require multimedia material to support its outreach. The Innovation Team is looking for a multimedia expert to produce videos, animations, and graphic design materials to promote the AFPSD Youth Special event and ensure an engaging communication format. The responsibilities of the consultant are to produce:

1) Two short stock footage APFSD promotional videos (about 30 seconds each) a) Promo video for the Policy challenge directed to Youth b) Promo video of the event

2) Two flyers/posters for social media promotion of both the policy challenge and the APFSD event a) Youth solutions challenge b) APFSD Event

3) Survey Project animation video (4 min)

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: - Academic Qualifications: No requirements. Preferably university degree in visual arts, multimedia, or related field Experience: A minimum of three years of progressive experience in video production and graphic design . Language: Fluency in written and spoken English.
