The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has been a committed partner to Mozambique’s development since 1976, working closely with the government, civil society, academia, and the private sector to advance sustainable development. Guided by its Country Programme Document and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UNDP Mozambique focuses on four transformative pillars:
Human development, multi-dimensional poverty, gender equality and public health management;
Inclusive economic recovery and diversification, and sustainable livelihoods;
Climate resilience and sustainable use of natural resources; and
Inclusive and decentralized governance, justice and peace and social cohesion.
The Multimedia Design and Communication Volunteer will work across two units: the Economic Policy Analysis Unit (EPAU) and the Inclusive Growth Unit (IGU). EPAU consists of a dedicated team of four professionals: the Senior Economist, Programme Specialist, Policy Analyst, and Associate. This unit plays a crucial role in supporting the country’s efforts to achieve sustainable and inclusive transformation. EPAU leads the policy and analytical work of the UNDP office, with a strong emphasis on advancing the 2030 in Mozambique. IGU aims to expand economic activities beyond traditional sectors to build a more diverse and sustainable economy that supports private sector development and creates decent jobs and income generating opportunities, especially for women and youth. IGU is a new unit that is still in the process of being established with substantive support from EPAU. The Multimedia Design and Communications Volunteer will work to develop high-quality materials tailored to a range of audiences, including policymakers, donors, partners, and the general public for both EPAU and IGU. These materials may include, but are not limited to:
· Infographics and other graphic design elements - Custom illustrations, icons, and visual assets that align with UNDP branding guidelines, enhancing the professionalism and clarity of communication outputs.
· Social media content: Posts, campaigns, and multimedia designed to enhance communication and engage diverse audiences.
· Reports and newsletters - Summaries of activities, achievements, and insights from both units, incorporating aesthetically appealing layouts, visual storytelling, and cohesive branding to improve readability and impact.
· Promotional materials - Brochures, flyers, and infographics that effectively communicate complex concepts in accessible and visually engaging formats.
· Success stories and human-interest pieces - Narratives that showcase the transformative impact of EPAU and IGU initiatives on individuals and communities, supported by compelling visuals and design elements.
· Event coverage - Capturing and publicizing key discussions, workshops, and conferences through well-crafted written content, photography, and graphic design to highlight key takeaways and outcomes.
