STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled and have attended University courses in the last 12 months inclusive of having completed at least two years of undergraduate studies or have recently graduated in the last 6 months’ in Civil Engineering or other relevant field;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point);
  • Fluent in English.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking to fill an internship position under the WFP Facilities Unit of the Mozambique Country Office. The position will be based in Tete, Mozambique. The Internship will be for an initial period of 6 months months starting from October 2022.

JOB PURPOSE

The selected candidate will be assisting the WFP Tete Field Office with the following projects:

  • WFP Tete New complex
  • SF WHK project – School feeding
  • Tete warehouse rehabilitation
  • Watershed management and building of assets (Well, channel, irrigation, etc)
  • Perform other duties as required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Act as a focal point for Tete activities and report back periodically – Periodicity to be determined as per site needs of the projects upon commencement
  • Read and interpret design issues and propose solutions whenever applicable and alert on possible problems/inconsistencies
  • Site supervision, quality control, and organization of documents

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP of US$ 575 per month.
  • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
  • WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education;
