ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking to fill one internship position under the WFP Programme Unit of the Mozambique Country Office. The position will be based in Beira, Mozambique. The Internship will be for an initial period of 6 months months starting from October 2022.

JOB PURPOSE

The selected candidate will be assisting the WFP Field Office with the following key duties:

  • Document the ongoing activities in Sofala and Manica provinces by collecting photos and videos
  • Assist in keeping track of important news, events, milestones and other communication opportunities
  • Coordinate and support the organization of media and donor field visits
  • Monitor WFP visibility on project sites and produce visibility items as needed
  • Support internal communications activities
  • Support reporting and information management efforts pertaining to activities in Sofala province
  • Support in preparation of internal and external communications materials specific to Sofala and Manica provinces, including social media, stories, reports, brochures, leaflets and other formats;
  • Support the development and running of events
  • Provide relevant research and translation services and other ad-hoc support;
  • Perform other duties as required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Deliver timely products as requested respecting the deadlines.
  • Provide feedback and relevant insights.
  • Demonstrate interest and express willingness to learn new tasks.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP of US$ 575 per month.
  • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
  • WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education;
