This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Description of task

Reporting to the M&E Officer and National Project Manager, the M&E Coordinator supports the implementation of the monitoring and reporting function of the GLOF- II Project.

Specifically, he/she will perform the following duties:

  • Provide support in the operation of GLOF II project Monitoring and Evaluation strategy, ensuring gender inclusive data collection;

  • Review, adopt, test and modify existing/available monitoring tools, techniques and methods to suit the specific needs of the project;

  • Facilitate annual and periodic implementation review and assessment exercises, including project board, working groups and other meetings through organization of meeting, recording of minutes etc.;
  • Provide support in the implementation of online Project Management Information System accessible to the Project team and partners;
  • Keep close liaison with the project offices including monitoring of the quarterly/annual work plans, implementation of M&E frameworks, etc.;
  • Assist the M&E officer in project quality assurance exercises, including updating UNDP Country Office/software for results and risks reporting etc.;
  • Review progress data and information to enable effective reporting on quarterly basis and preparing reports, including collecting of gender segregated data;
  • Conduct field monitoring visits to review and monitor on-going project activities in GB and KP to assess the implementation quality of activities and progress towards the results;
  • Continuously monitor and consolidate lessons learned in the implementation of the project, and good practices/case studies;
  • Assist M&E officer in implementing training plans for enhancing M&E capacities of the national and provincial project team and its partners;
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned.

Educational additional comments

Degree in project management, business administration, economics, management, social sciences or other relevant disciplines.

Experience remark

  • At least 04 Years’ Experience working collaboratively with international, national and local stakeholders; and implementing partners and donors.
  • Experience of working with international development agency in collaboration with the government.
  • Relevant experience in Results Based Management (RBM), including developing participatory M&E systems and analyzing data, using statistical software would be advantageous;
  • Substantive knowledge in planning and monitoring;
  • Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports;
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.);
  • Experience in handling of web-based management systems.
