Overview

Support Monitoring Officer in project evaluation and reporting tasks

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business administration, Economics, Political Sciences or related fields.
  • 24 months of relevant experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, Reporting.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Must be of Afghan nationality or a legal resident in Afghanistan.

Contract

This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of Monitoring Officer, the national UNV will support the Monitoring Officer with the following tasks:

  • Assist in implementation of Monitoring and evaluation Plan for the COPS Project activities
  • Support the development of M&E tools for coordinating the progress updates with COPS M&E team.
  • Prepare and maintain database from the organized events and PeM meetings.
  • Assist in regular monitoring of the COPS project interventions against annual work plan and implementation plan;
  • Participate and monitor the PeM council meetings, events and outreach activities organized by the grant recipients.
  • Support liaison with all relevant partners specially community members to determine COPS effectiveness level.
  • Drafting quarterly and annual reports on the COPS project activities;
  • Draft articles, news and success stories on the COPS Newsletter and other UNDP publications if required
  • Contribute to the capacity building of civil society organizations by organizing capacity building, awareness-raising and monitoring workshops.
  • Translate various documents into Pashto and Dari
  • Draft agenda, memos, letters and other project related documentations as appropriate
  • Any other task assigned by the Monitoring officer

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level:

Bachelor degree or equivalent

Additional Comments: Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, Economics, Political Sciences or related fields, Trainings in Monitoring and evaluation, reporting, data collection and Reporting is an asset

Required experience:

24 Months

Experience remark:

  • Relevant experience of 2 years in the field of Monitoring and Evaluation, Reporting;
  • In-depth understanding of institutional, administrative, and other governance issues;
  • Proven qualities in teamwork and ability to work harmoniously with local partners: governments at various levels, civil society, communities, other stakeholders (references must be provided with application);
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Office incl. Word, Excel, etc).Familiar with the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Office incl. Word, Excel, etc).
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Familiarity with processes of UN agencies and/or IFIs an asset;
  • Work individually as well as part of a team towards common goals;
  • Fluency in English required
