JOB PURPOSE

This job is located in District Sukkur, Dadu and Larkana. Monitoring Assistant will report directly to Programme Associate M&E at PO level under the overall guidance of Head of Provincial Office Karachi.

At this level work is carried out under minimum supervision. Monitoring assistant will be responsible to monitor livelihood cash based transfer activities and nutrition related activities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1. Verify the planned movements and distribution of food or non-food items, reporting issues or discrepancies to the supervisor for timely resolution of problems and to ensure that the quantity distributed, and the quality of the operation is in line with WFP standards.

2. Maintain information records and monitoring plan documentation, such as records of commodity movements and programme checklists, in order to assist in the effective delivery and distribution of food items or non-food items.

3. Collate assistance programme(s) data in accordance with clear direction, in order to support programme reviews and informative decision-making.

4. Liaise with cooperating partners and internal counterparts to gather feedback and comments to support programme reviews and improve services.

5. Receive and collate comments and feedback from cooperating partners, beneficiaries, and beneficiaries, to support identifying programmatic issues with a view to fostering efficient operations.

6. Provide guidance for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods in order to support them to complete self-monitoring tasks and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas.

7. Prepare field mission reports to document programme implementation.

8. Follow set emergency response processes and procedures for emergency food assistance

OTHER POST REQUIREMENTS

9. • Perform case studies to assess the results of WFP interventions on target communities.

10. Perform purposive monitoring visits to follow-up on critical issues surfaced through internal and external sources i.e., WFP beneficiary feedback mechanism, government authorities, UN coordination office etc;

11. Represent WFP at district level coordination forum and accordingly keep WFP PO updated;

12. Verify the targeting (i.e., beneficiary registration and planned activities in in selected villages) as per WFP envisaged standards;

13. Perform monitoring of ongoing physical work by participants and the training sessions imparted by Cooperating Partner;

14. Perform cash distribution monitoring and the processes involved to mobilize beneficiaries to the cash disbursement points;

15. Process monitoring of ongoing Stunting prevention activity at facilitation center.

16. Data collection and uploading of monitoring checklist in WFP designated monitoring database.

17. Post distribution monitoring of activities to record satisfaction of beneficiaries and effectiveness of WFP activities.

18. Prepare daily/weekly monitoring plan with supervisor and maintain information records and monitoring plan documentation, such as programme checklists.

19. Uploading of issues in issues tracking system for systematic follow-up by concerned activity focal points;

20. Facilitate donor missions and ensure WFP visibility in field.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION:

University degree in social sciences, public health, business administration, economics or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 4 years experience in programme related activities with 3 years or more experience in monitoring of humanitarian or development projects.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

General knowledge of food security and nutrition monitoring. Knowledge of WFP monitoring systems and standards desirable

LANGUAGE:

Fluency in both oral and written communication in the English and in the duty station’s language (Sindhi).
