ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The incumbent will be responsible to supervise and follow up the Programme activities under the supervision of the Erbi, Sulaymaniyah and Dohuk Field Office management, and technical guidance and support from the M&E team in the Country Office, and overall guidance from the Head of Programme.

JOB PURPOSE

The monitoring assistant will supervise and follow up all the Programme activities implemented in the central areas.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Perform specialized and/or standardized processes and activities within the specific technical area of work supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
  2. Verify the planned movements and distribution of food or non-food items, reporting issues or discrepancies to the supervisor for timely resolution of problems and to ensure that the quantity distributed, and the quality of the operation is in line with WFP standards.
  3. Maintain information records and monitoring plan documentation, such as records of commodity movements and programme checklists, to assist in the effective delivery and distribution of food items or non-food items.
  4. Collate assistance programme(s) data in accordance with clear direction, to support programme reviews and informative decision-making.
  5. Liaise with the partners and counterparts to gather feedback and comments to support programme reviews and improve services.
  6. Receive and collate comments and feedback from partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries to support identifying programmatic issues with a view to fostering efficient operations.
  7. Provide guidance for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods to support them to complete self-monitoring tasks and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas.
  8. Conduct field missions/visits to achieve all the above-mentioned tasks and duties, as required.
  9. Prepare field mission reports to document programme implementation.

Data Analytics and Visualization Collects and summarizes programme data, including information on shipments, distribution site logistics, the status of personas in need, and beneficiaries planned and reached for all programme assistance modalities and activities. Programme Monitoring and Review Gathers, organizes, and provides data on programme outputs, processes, and outcomes, including distribution plans and the status, quantity, and quality of food and cash distributed and technical assistance provided.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable. Experience: As minimum, of four (4) years of work experience in relevant areas. Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic required. Knowledge of Kurdish or a second UN language is desirable.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

  • Has experience working with Governmental technical counterparts.
  • Has worked extensively in tasks that involved relationship building and community engagement.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Position Title: Monitoring Assistant Grade: SC4 Contract type: Service Contract Multiple Duty Station: Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Dohuk Duration of contract: 6 months, with possibility of extension subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance Salary: Minimum Annual Net Salary is 17,754.00 USD Medical Plan: International valid medical plan for the staff member, spouse, and dependent children Annual leave: 30 working days per annum
