KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the direct supervision of Senior Programme Associate and overall supervision by the Programme Policy Officer, Head of Programme / and Head of Field Office in WFP Sittwe field office, the incumbent will perform the following duties:-

  • Coordinate and strengthen the relationship with Government Counterpart Departments to implement multi-sectoral programme to be in line with WFP Country Strategies Plan (CSP 2018 – 2022) and strategic planning at all levels as required;
  • Coordinate with other UN/INGOs/CBOs/CSOs in each respective area to enhance capacity of collaboration and sharing of information and brought forward fruitful information to relevant units for further necessary action;
  • Make the proper plan and to collect the data of responsible area in terms of base line data, area profile and other programme related activities and to conduct targeting exercise for all activities;
  • Make the proper plan to distribute food to different beneficiaries. Assess project performance including utilization of resources and achievement of planned targets;
  • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the assistance programme at the local level, in close collaboration with the Cooperating partners;
  • Monitor, review and report the overall commodity movements such as food deliveries, storage, transport and distribution at the site and verify if the amounts received have been properly recorded, damaged or suspected to be damaged;
  • Supervise the efficient distribution of food items at the site and ensure proper distribution of entitlements and verify appropriate entitlements are distributed and provide feedback to supervisor and others on the distribution;
  • Assist in the conduct of regular meetings with community leaders, Project Management Committee (PMC) members, any other relevant committee members and implementing partners on the commodity pipeline distribution arrangements, food entitlements, other relevant issues and empowering them with knowledge to achieve our goals;
  • Where necessary, assist in the preparation of report documents to relevant partners, counterparts and come up with concrete and relevant documents and information for more effective program related activities;
  • Assist the Cooperating Partner in the implementation of the plan of action, review achievement and constraints and provide feedback accordingly;
  • Promote gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE) as a cross-cutting commitment that informs the Country Strategic Plan (CSP 2018 – 2022) in collaboration with CPs through programme implementation at field level;
  • Monitor the situation of IDPs and refugee return in view of food security by conducting field assessment trips to area where available and when necessary;
  • Update programme activity database and tracking sheet, regularly prepare monthly M & E data, data cleaning and request approval for new inclusion and exclusion of beneficiaries as required;
  • Compile and follow deadline of a regular, complete, and accurate report on programme activities as well as food stock positions, receipts, movements, losses and distribution data for the Area -Office;
  • Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • Completion of secondary education. Relevant post-secondary qualification will be an added advantage.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Three or more years of responsible programme experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office skills in Excel and PowerPoint.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Experience in following areas is an advantage.

  • Has worked with communities implementing humanitarian relief programmes.
  • Has contributed to data collection and management in implementation of programmes.

LANGUAGE

  • Good written and oral skills in English required. Fluency in Rakhine language an added advantage
