This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the RR UNDP (or his designated mandated representative), and in close collaboration with relevant programme managers at the three levels of the Organization (country, regional and global), the international UN Volunteer M&E Specialist will undertake a variety of tasks to support the MoH monitoring Office in the successful completion of COVID-19 Work Plan.

  • Organize track and follow-up COVID-19 suspected cases in the community;
  • Training of trainers in best practices in M&E;
  • Implementation of monitoring and evaluation policies and strategies for COVID-19 pandemic;
  • Support monitor and evaluation for Covid-19 pandemic.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level:

Master degree or equivalent

Education - Additional Comments:

Public health or other health-related field, public policy, evaluation, development economics, international affairs, community development, demography, statistics, social sciences, or a related field; a first-level university degree or equivalent in combination with relevant training and/or professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

Required experience:

36 Months

3 years of professional work experience at the national level in monitoring, evaluation, reporting or research.

The incumbent must be a dynamic, multi-functional person who supports the UNDP Evaluation Office’s drive for results with professionalism and dedication, and who must be willing both to work on substantive aspects of evaluation and to provide operational/logistical support. The following qualifications are required:

  • Demonstrated experience in the field of mixed-method evaluation;
  • Experience with COVID-19 pandemic or other epidemics;
  • Ability to quickly grasp and synthesize both qualitative and quantitative information;
  • Excellent oral and written skills, especially in an evaluation context (i.e., presentation of ideas to other team members as well as key stakeholders, excellent drafting);
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including positive teamwork, respect for others, cultural and social sensitivity, ability to establish rapport and work inclusively and collaboratively with a wide range of partners, active listening ability, and receptivity to constructive feedback;
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment; and
  • Desirable: experience with project development and management, human rights-based approaches, capacity development approaches, are all assets.
