This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

Since 2017, the Province of Cabo Delgado in Mozambique has been facing an escalating conflict, compounded by a fragile situation of chronic underdevelopment, consecutive climatic shocks, and recurrent disease outbreaks. Currently, over 900,000 people are facing severe hunger and over 1.3 million people need urgent humanitarian support. As of October 2021, over 800,000 internally displaced people are located in relocation camps or informally hosted by already vulnerable communities across the Provinces of Cabo Delgado, Nampula, and Niassa. Violent attacks by Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs) have significantly heightened protection risks, especially for women and girls. The government of Mozambique has responded with military action and reclaimed a number of areas that had been occupied by NSAGs. Prior to the arrival of the first foreign troops on the ground in July 2021, UNDP had initiated stabilization interventions to assist the government of Mozambique in its efforts to re-establish the presence of the State in the reclaimed areas, paving the way for reconstruction and a subsequent safe and voluntary return of IDPs to their areas of origin.
