Contract
This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.
Financing is a key driver in implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, guided by the Addis Ababa Action Agenda (AAAA). As ESCWA prepares for the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), the focus is on assessing progress, addressing challenges, and supporting the transition to sustainable, SDG-aligned financing frameworks.
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Economics Affairs Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer will:
- Provide econometric support to analyze the factors driving investment opportunities and potentials in the economies of member States. This includes workstreams focused on quantitative economic modeling and causal inference.
- Perform comprehensive statistical compilations to support the preparation of reports and in-depth analysis.
- Update the FfD data analytics methodologies.
- Assist in the preparation of literature reviews, research papers and presentations.
- Assess and examine data sets for accuracy, clarity and validity and interpret results.
- Compile and create comprehensive tables, lists, charts, and produce graphs, figures, and dashboards that illustrate key aspects of financing for development.
- Assist in the preparation of FfD upcoming activities and meetings in ESCWA member States and other substantive tasks.
- Collaborate closely with different team members in Financing for Development and contribute to the work of the team as needed.

Knowledge of the united nations is a desirable.
As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. This position is based in (Beirut). National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions.
