Overview

Provide support during the health assessment process of immigrants and refugees.

You have:

  • Secondary School Diploma with at least four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or higher, with at least 1 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, Outlook.
  • Fluency in English and Urdu is required (oral and written).
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
  • Attention to detail, ability to organize paperwork in a methodical way.
  • Discreet, details and clients-oriented, patient and willingness to learn new things.

Contract

This is a G-3 contract. This kind of contract is known as General Service and related categories. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 3 years of experience, depending on education. More about G-3 contracts.

Organization Context and Scope :

Under the overall supervision of Chief Health Officer and direct supervision of Senior Migration Health Physician the incumbent will be responsible for the receiving and guiding supports during the health assessment process of the immigrants and refugees of different countries which will be conducted in the framework of donor countries. He/ She serves as a vital link between the organization and its clients/visitors, contributing to the overall positive image and efficient functioning of the organization .

Qualifications

Required Qualification and Experience :

Education :

  • Secondary School Diploma with at least four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or higher, with at least 1 years of relevant professional experience.

Experience :

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, Outlook;
  • Attention to detail, ability to organize paperwork in a methodical way;
  • Discreet, details and clients-oriented, patient and willingness to learn new things; and,
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non- government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

Languages :

External applicants for all positions in the Professional category are required to be proficient in English and have at least a working knowledge of one additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).

Required :

  • Fluency in English and Urdu is required (oral and written).

Desirable :

Working knowledge of the local languages would be advantage

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

  • Greet visitors and present a positive image of IOM; bridge the barrier between the client and IOM at the entrance level.
  • Remain well informed regarding IOM Vision, strategy, protocols and health assessment procedures.
  • Communicate with the clients and build IOM rapport and image.
  • issue token/give badges to clients, visitors and attendants after proper identification of clients, verification of documents and ensure proper queue management system.
  • Provide information relevant to health assessment process, direct the clients/visitors to appropriate areas and also notify the relevant personnel about their arrival through the system.
  • Answering and forwarding the phone calls, handle incoming calls, providing information, taking messages, transferring calls to the appropriate individual. He/ She must maintain a professional and polite behavior while dealing with clients.
  • Must be Able to listen and handle client complaints and queries at the office entrance level and provide accurate information about the organization policies/services and assist in resolving general queries.
  • Monitoring the daily security guard’s services and care to the clients.
  • Maintenance of reception area
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
