Expected duration The individual contractor will work in JMS for a duration of three months.

Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is the UN headquarters in Africa and the representative office of the Secretary-General. We support programme implementation of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) globally, as well as other UN offices in Kenya, by providing administrative, conference and information services. The post is located in Gigiri Nairobi, at the Joint Medical Services .The individual contractor will be at NOC level 5 -All inclusive. Appointment against this post is on local basis. Under the supervision of Deputy Chief of medical services ,The individual contractor will carry out the following duties & responsibilities,

a) Perform day-to-day clinical duties, e.g. attending to walk-in clinic, b) Medical evacuations, emergencies, c) Pre-placement and periodic medical examinations, d) Immunizations, travel advice; e) Refer staff to and follow up with outside specialists as necessary; f) Provide health education and medical counselling to clients; g) Organize/Participate in addressing work environment and occupational health issues h) Emergency response within Gigiri Complex. i)Undertake house calls and hospital rounds when required j) Screening for Wellness Program Clients. k)Undertake medical examinations (entry, periodic) according to UN guidelines and procedures l)Undertake ‘outpatient’ treatment m)Perform any other tasks as may be required.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Medicine (MBChB) is required.

Must be Registered with Kenya medical practitioners and Dentist board.

Valid Advanced Trauma Life certificate (ATLS) or PHTLS certificate, Valid ACLS certificate.

Experience in Accident and Emergency medicine and /or Intensive care unit is required. Experience: 5 Years experience in medical field is required. ICU experience will be an added advantage Language: Fluency in oral and written English is required.
