You have:

  • Advanced university degree in education, media, international development, social sciences or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, communication, and education related projects/programmes.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
  • Working experience in the Middle East is desirable.
  • Proficiency in MS-Office.
  • Ability to independently plan and prioritize work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relations in a team environment.

Result of Service ORGANISATIONAL SETTING AND REPORTING This position is situated within the UNRWA Department of Education at HQ-Amman. The MIL Project Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the Chief, Teaching and Learning Division. Furthermore, the Coordinator will liaise with other Fields and Departments involved in the development and implementation of the project activities as outlined in the project documents. - The following conditions are to be observed: . - Remuneration will be USD 1,400 on a monthly basis: o Payment will be released on submission of a monthly attendance sheet. - Telecommuting arrangements could be considered.

Work Location UNRWA HQ Amman

Expected duration The position will run on a full-time basis from 1 June 2022 until 31 October 2022.

Duties and Responsibilities In accordance with Agency policies and procedures, the MIL Project Coordinator will be expected to: - Support the Teaching and Learning Division coordination with other Units within the Department of Education HQ(A), the Fields and the other Departments at HQ(A) for the preparation of the MIL Strategy and Teacher Toolkit. - Contribute to the preparation of various written outputs, including donor progress reports, meeting minutes, concept notes, briefing note etc. - Support communication and provide substantive assistance in planning/organising meetings, video conferences and workshops, including proposing agenda topics and presentations. - Assist the Chief Teaching and Learning Division in any other tasks, as needed.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: - An advanced university degree from an accredited educational institution in education, media, international development, social sciences or related fields. Experience: - A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, communication and education related projects/programmes. Candidates with a university degree and 5 years of experience can be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. - Applicants with international experience can apply for this local post against the identified rate.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS - Knowledge of Arabic. - Working experience in the Middle East.
