Org. Setting and Reporting Is directly responsible administratively to Field Administration officer and technically to Field Technical Officer, through the Maintenance Engineer.

Responsibilities Maintains and repairs the central air conditioning and heating systems in LFO Compound;

Repairs the electrical installations and ensures the operation of the stand-by power systems in LFO Compound;

Prepares tender documents, analysis, recommends contractors, for maintenance of equipments such as chiller, generators, lifts, etc.;

Prepares bills of materials for spare parts needed for all systems;

Checks the safety of installed equipment against possible fire and damages;

Operates and controls the systems according to the regulations;

Checks and registers all major equipment and keeps record of repairs carried out;

Supervises the Senior Handyman;

Performs such other duties as may be assigned

Education Successful completion of full secondary education.

Successful completion of a diploma of two years duration in refrigeration and air conditioning

Work Experience Five years practical experience in the repair and maintenance of air conditioning systems specially the water chillers, fan coil units, and heating systems

Good knowledge and practice electrical connections relating to the air conditioning systems and building installations

Languages Good knowledge of English, written and spoken.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Type of contract and duration: Fixed – Term appointment for 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need. Equivalency: When the minimum requirements are not fully met, the Director of Human Resources may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications and progressive relevant work experience. N.B: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination. Desirable qualification: N/A Conditions of service: Monthly basic salary USD 1,187.60 + SPLA USD 167 Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15.2% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable).
