- Preferred 2 - 3 years of working experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, or a related field, preferably within the development sector in Sri Lanka with a Diploma in social sciences, statistics, economics, development studies, Town Planning, or a related field

Key Responsibilities:
Job Description The MEAL Assistant supports the MEAL Specialist in implementing Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities for Mihikatha Lanka project that will be operated in Welikanda & Rideemalyadda DS Divisions. This includes collecting, entering, cleaning, and analyzing data to ensure quality and accuracy. The MEAL Assistant also helps prepare reports, presentations, and other deliverables. The MEAL Assistant will work closely with the MEAL Specialists, Project Manager in the Project offices to contribute the development of high-quality monitoring tools, promoting accountability to affected populations, documenting lessons learned from program activities, and assisting in project evaluations. The MEAL Assistant will support the direct implementation of all MEAL processes and activities (non-sector-specific) in their office under the supervision of the MEAL Specialist and with guidance from their MEAL Specialists from National Office. These processes will include training enumerators and, hosting quarterly learning processes with office staff, overseeing and operating the office feedback and complaints response mechanism, tracking area specific activities related to the MEAL and accountability and reporting the results MEAL activities to the MEAL Specialist and project team. The MEAL Assistant will manage the day-to-day MEAL functions at their subbase office and support the MEAL Specialist in the development of MEAL tools and implementation of MEAL activities. The MEAL Assistant will also be engaged in supporting the MEAL specialists in building the MEAL processes and implementation of the MEAL system.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist MEAL specialists in developing MEAL tools, contextualization and translation
- Review the Means of Verification for each project activity, providing regular reports to the MEAL Specialist and guidance to project staff.
- Work with the MEAL Specialist to conduct assessments, research, and other M&E activities.Assist MEAL teams in Project offices and in country office in basic quantitative and qualitative data analysis
- Closely coordinate with relevant project staff to ensure project-relevant information is shared and used to properly track progress of projects in the appropriate tracker at area- and project-level
- Participate in learning events (workshops, seminars) to share knowledge and experiences with other MEAL professionals
- Document all feedback received from beneficiaries and local communities and ensure that the feedback is addressed in a timely manner.
- Support accountability specialist for Staff capacity building in term of providing training on existence feedback mechanism to the new employee and focal points
- Consolidate the CRM database of the area/field offices and make sure all data updated correctly
- Coordinate with field staff to plan and schedule MEAL activities (data collection, monitoring visits, evaluations).
Required Skills, knowledge and Experience
- Preferred 1 year of working experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, or a related field with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, Town Planning, or a Related Field Or
- Preferred 2 - 3 years of working experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, or a related field, preferably within the development sector in Sri Lanka with a Diploma in social sciences, statistics, economics, development studies, Town Planning, or a related field.
