Org. Setting and Reporting The incumbent is responsible to the MD Accounts and Finance Officer

Responsibilities In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:

  • Supervises, maintains and controls the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers of the respective field, both at field and branch levels; assists in developing the internal accounts control system for all branches;

  • Supervises the cashiering functions and accounts of the branches in line with the general work flow;

  • Maintains and reports monthly on the respective field’s accounts payable and receivable; verifies and retrieves the accounting data of the Programme through the Agency’s FMS .

  • Supervises, maintains and controls accurate records of VAT claims and submits monthly reports thereof using Financial System; follows-up on VAT refund and raises necessary actions to clear pending claims;

  • Supervises the preparation of all internal financial and budget reports and statements of the respective field on a monthly quarterly, and annual basis: - Provides technical guidance on the analysis of financial reports; - Provides technical support and training to all users of financial modules and reports on financial and accounting policies, instructions and financial reports

  • Supervises, maintains and controls accurate records of field MD assets, supply and equipment purchases; authorizes the fixed asset transactions in the general ledger to account for newly acquired MD assets in the respective field;

  • Generates reports related to his/her functions and communicates with the respective stakeholders accordingly;

  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned

    Competencies - Ability to plan, organize and supervise the work of others;

  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize own work, works well under tight deadlines and handles multiple concurrent activities;
  • Initiative and proven ability to work with little supervision;
  • Excellent skills in the usage of standard software applications.

    Education - University degree in business, finance, accounts or management.

    Work Experience •At least six years’ experience in accounting work, accounts, supervision or audit practices.

    Languages - Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic.

    Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

    Special Notice Contract Status: Fixed-Term Appointment for one year, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.

Benefits: - Level ML5A, Monthly Salary JD 997.30 fils. Plus SOA 20% of basic salary. Other benefits include Provident Fund contribution (15 % of basic salary paid by the Agency) and medical insurance. Dependency benefits are subject to eligibility.

Department/Office: Microfinance.

Duty Station: Microfinance Department -National Office/Amman

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Accounting.

Additional Information:

  • The incumbent is required to travel frequently throughout the branches within the respective field;

  • The incumbent should have the willingness to work after normal duty hours and official holidays;

  • Possession of a valid driving license.

Equivalency:

When the minimum requirements are not fully met, the Director of Human Resources, in consultation with the Director, Microfinance Department may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications, additional professional training and progressive relevant work experience.

NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination.
