The resettlement office in Salt Lake City, Utah provides services to approximately 500 such refugees annually.

SCOPE OF WORK:

IRC-SLC Health Programs promote physical and psychosocial well being by ensuring access to healthcare services and providing culturally appropriate, strength-based, educational programming.

The Maternal & Child Health Program provides women and children with access to culturally and linguistically appropriate medical services; assists pregnant women with prenatal and postpartum care; ensures well child checkups are scheduled; and assists families to access WIC services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• WIC: Schedule appointments, pre-WIC and bus orientations, WIC shopping

• Pre-Natal/Post Partum Care: Schedule appointments, deliver new baby kits to expectant moms

• Well Child Checkups: Schedule client appointments

• Other Duties as Needed: Data entry, transportation to medical and dental appointments, other duties as needed

Qualifications REQUIREMENTS:

• Background in public health, social work, health promotion OR other related fields

• Experience working with refugees/diverse populations

• Motivated, flexible and able to work independently

• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Demonstrated ability to communicate and work as a team member in a cross-cultural environment

• Must be able to prioritize and manage time effectively

POSITION LOGISTICS:

• Length of Service: 10-16 weeks

Start Date: September 11th, 2023

• Compensation: This an unpaid internship

• Hours: 15-24 hours per week
