SCOPE OF INTERN WORK: With oversight from the Senior Matching Grant Program Officer, the Matching Grant Internship activities include concentrating on building economic empowerment capacity that will benefit IRC's offices across the United States. The central focus will be to improve the effectiveness of employment programs that help refugees to navigate the American job market and find employment. These employment programs help refugees attain economic self-sufficiency and begin their journey toward integration. He or she will play a key role in the development and review of MG training materials and resources.. He or she will assist with development of MG's resource library,MG training materials for local staff and disseminating MG learning resources where relevant. This position reports to the Senior Matching Grant Program Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

.Review programmatic and operational needs of employment programs in IRC offices and identify priorities. Identify 3-6 priority projects that would advance programmatic performance of employment programs in IRC offices.

.Assist with data analysis and review self-sufficiency reports submitted from the field.

.Develop and complete 3-6 projects that improve employment programmatic performance.

.Create and/or update technical assistance tools for resettlement staff and/or volunteers.

.Topics will be identified in collaboration with the Matching Grant Program Officers and may include: Practical real-world examples, case studies and best practices related to case management to newly arrived MG participants.

. Content adapted from existing MG trainings or tools into shorter blog format.

. Useful research and data collection tools/resources; etc.

.Assist with the development and update of MG's library of tools/resources.

.Support the development of new MG resources by drafting, testing and reviewing trainings and materials.

.Where relevant, support MG Program Officers by assisting with feedback tracking, online course enrollment, preparation of project data for reporting, etc.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. The intern will gain professional experience in program administration and implementation across diverse group of individuals.

2. The intern will deepen understanding of MG topics and best practices related to planning and building economic empowerment capacity to early employment programs.

3. The intern will gain experience with methods and technology used to disseminate learning.

REQUIREMENTS:

.Masters degree coursework in Social Work.

.Very strong written communication skills, including the ability to effectively distill and present complex information in a concise, accessible way.

.Experience with website maintenance, or newsletter development is a plus (not required).

This is an unpaid internship position. No financial compensation, including compensation for relocation, is available.
