Ensure accurate management of master data across the Supply Chain

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
  • At least 2-3 years of work experience preferably in Supply Chain Master Data is required.
  • Experience working in a humanitarian organization is an advantage.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite (focus on Excel), SQL studio manager is essential, certification is an asset.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and communicate complex information, data sets, and procedural compliance from key stakeholders.
  • High degree of attention to detail is necessary to spot minor errors, misstatements, or anomalies.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (oral and writing).
  • Ability to work remotely within a multi-cultural organization.
  • Ability to manage priorities.

What we do

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and, at the same time, promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.

Purpose

The Master Data Officer ensures master data is managed as per the global master data management policy. They also ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of master data across the Supply Chain. The Officer provides support to internal customers in any MDM related requests and issues. They respect defined service levels and KPI.

Relationships

  • Internally, interacts with: Logistics (transports and clearance, warehouse, supply chain, procurement, support, Data BI, medical logistics and logistics generalists), L&D, Finance, ICT and field Logisticians.
  • Externally, interacts with counterparts within the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movements

Accountabilities & Functional responsibilities

Perform Master Data daily and regular checks: Data Quality and Consistency: Ensuring that master data (e.g., product information, customer records, etc.) is correct, complete, timely maintained and used consistently across all systems.

  • Perform Master Data quality and accuracy daily checks
  • Perform other regular checks
  • Monitor the various Master Data interfaces (Item tree, Items to MDS, Recipient places from Location Manager.)

Master Data Objects Maintenance: ERP System Management: Managing master data within an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, which integrates core business processes like supply chain, Procurement, finance and operations.

  • Items creations, updates in the ERP
  • Ensure the item propagation to appropriate contexts based on pre-defined rules.
  • Manage phase-in / phase-out of items. (obsolescence analysis, maintain the replacement Cross reference table)
  • Maintain customers. (Delivery address, internal, external customers, inter site customers) in the ERP
  • Maintain other Master Data: Transport, procurement, warehousing, planning, MRP, BOM, new sites.

Support: Manage Incidents and service requests related to Master Data Management from internal customers.

  • Provide solutions to Master Data related incidents and requests. Perform root cause analysis.
  • Perform tests (User Acceptance, Non-regression, Computer System Validation…) periodically.

Data Analysis: Analyzing data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement.

Training: Educating teams on how to use and maintain data correctly, ensuring they adhere to data management best practices.

  • Give key-user trainings on master data related topics.
  • Give training to new logisticians on master data related topics.

Collaboration: Working with various departments (e.g., finance, operations, supply chain) to ensure data needs are met and that the information supports business decision-making.

  • Participate in assigned regular meetings, provide feedback and alerts to the Global Master Data Manager in case of potential impactive deviations.
  • Contribute to the creation of a shared knowledge base.
  • Contribute to implement new daily / Regular Master Data checks

Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve data-related processes and workflows, ensuring they are efficient and scalable.

Selection Requirements
