With rapid and strong growth in PSFR income already well-demonstrated, achieving and delivering on the ambitious but realistic revenue goals needs to be supported by a robust PSFR Staffing Structure to enable continued dynamic growth to be achieved in a sustainable way.

Based in our new Resource Mobilization Strategy 2022 – 2025 we will further develop and strengthen our fundraising operations to reflect the pillars:

  • Accelerate the diversification of the Individual Giving portfolio (Pledge, Cash, Legacy) and embed the shift to Digital.
  • Deliver excellence in the Supporter Engagement Strategy to retain donors and increase the value of giving
  • Innovate and test new value propositions and transactions models.
  • Implement robust business intelligence analytics and insights to allow for data-driven decisions to be taken
  • Maximize support from business in emergencies
  • Explore new channels in the duration of this strategic plan, for example, Corporate Philanthropy

This new position will contribute to reinforce the level of interactions, fundraising communication, relationship and strategic thinking to communicate raise funds from all channels. This position will also explore and develop new fundraising channels based on brand raising formats (events, massive media. etc); but also, it will give coherence and synergize in the communications to all audiences and types of donors ensuring a properly coordination with the institutional communication.

KEY END-RESULTS:

  • Promote brand awareness and positioning to increase the UNICEF capacity to influence on decision makers, opinion leaders and citizen in favor of CRC.
  • Support the private fundraising and partner members responding to communication strategies that boost the acquisition and retention objectives.
  • Reach digital Donors and Special Events income goals to finance UNICEF local, regional and global priorities.
  • Promote collaboration between the PFP areas and identify areas of joint work between programs and communications that support the fundraising objectives

How can you make a difference?

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES and DUTIES & TASKS:

1. Define the annual PFP content requirements, strategies and plans to support the acquisition and retention strategies for the private sector (individual donors, corporate allies and special events), on children issues and UNICEF work locally, regionally and globally.

  • Validate the PSFR annual content needs with the PSFR Specialists/Officers, Resource Mobilization Manager, Programme Specialists/Officers and Communications Specialist/Officers.
  • Lead and supervise the gathering, design and implementation of information and content that supports the acquisition and retention campaigns/tactics for the private sector.
  • Monitor the production and use of content in different materials ensuring the brand guidelines application to all the PFP materials from local, regional and global initiatives.
  • Participate in strategic and key Program meetings, events and presentations to get new information and guarantee the joint of PSFR and programmes initiatives.
  • Participate in the PFP emergencies plan preparation and implementation.
  • Work closely with the Communication Specialist to ensure the coordination between the institutional communication with fundraising needs. This coordination will also has to identify opportunities to engage, sensibilize and promote children rights into PFP content 8. Any other assigned administrative management responsibilities and services are effectively carried out and delivered.

2. Support private fundraising and partnership members responding to the communication strategies for the acquisition and retention of individual and corporate donors.

  • Lead and coordinate the communications fundraising campaigns from the strategy and concept to the implementation and follow up.
  • Support mass fundraising campaigns such as DRTV, multichannel etc.
  • Work coordination with communication agencies and/or other suppliers to support the fundraising and retention strategies of the private sector.

3. Supervise the implementation of the fundraising Special Events plan.

  • Validate the annual Special Events plan and calendar.
  • Propose content changes and innovations. Promote the expansion of established events.
  • Periodically search of new mass communication initiatives/ideas (different than DRTV and Telethon) that support the fundraising objectives.
  • Maintain good relations with different counterparts (e.g. TV Station) at a managerial level.
  • Monitor income against costs.

4. Supervise the Marketing Services Team

  • Promote a “continuous improvement” culture throughout the entire Marketing Services Team.
  • Assist to meetings with the team with focus on: progresses, drawbacks and deadlines.
  • Coordinate the Marketing Services team, giving guidance and periodically provide feedback.
  • Ensure the completion of PAS--both own and to all staff under supervision.

5. Assure effective coordination, communication and collaboration with other PSFR areas, communications and programmes.

  • Promote mechanisms to exchange and update information and content needs and challenges with programmes, communications and PSFR.
  • Participate in PSFR internal meetings.

6. Others

  • According to the plans, new strategies and opportunities support and assume new tasks and roles.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • A University degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or any other discipline relevant to the job is an asset. Specialized training in Direct Marketing or Private Fundraising is a strong asset.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant professional experience in Communications, preferably in a Direct Marketing or Private Fundraising environment is required; Additional years of relevant experience in the above-mentioned fields is a strong asset.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergencies is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
  • For this position, Chilean nationality is required. National Professional Officers are nationals of the country in which they are serving, and their functions must have a national context, i.e. functions that require national experience or knowledge of the national language, culture, institutions, and systems.
