You have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Development or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in marketing, preferably in corporate CSR environment.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Strong writing, editing, and visual communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with design software and digital analytics tools is an advantage.
  • High proficiency in English (written and spoken); Sesotho an advantage.

Purpose of the position:

This position supports World Vision Lesotho’s Resource Acquisition Department to design and implement strategic marketing initiatives that strengthen the organization’s ability to attract and secure financial and non-financial resources. The role focuses on market positioning, donor-centric marketing strategies, and partnership development to support resource mobilization goals. This is not a communications role; it is dedicated to marketing strategies that drive funding growth and strategic partnerships.

Time Key Outputs/Responsibilities

Marketing & Branding Strategy (20%)

  • Develop and execute strategic marketing plans aligned with resource mobilization objectives
  • Create annual and quarterly marketing strategies that directly support fundraising targets.
  • Define donor segments and tailor marketing approaches for institutional donors, corporates, and foundations.
  • Ensure alignment with organizational priorities and global resource mobilization frameworks
  • Increased brand visibility among priority donor segments.
  • Achieved marketing targets aligned with fundraising goals.
  • Enhanced organizational positioning within donor markets.
  • Improved alignment between marketing strategies and global WV frameworks.

Market Research and Donor Analysis (20%)

  • Conduct market research and donor trend analysis to identify funding opportunities and inform marketing strategies.
  • Analyze donor priorities, funding cycles, and emerging trends in development financing.
  • Maintain a database of potential donors and partners with insights on their strategic interests.
  • Provide actionable intelligence to guide proposal development and partnership engagement.
  • Up-to-date market intelligence reports produced quarterly.
  • Comprehensive donor database maintained and regularly updated.
  • Increased success rate in donor targeting and proposal submissions.
  • Improved alignment between donor interests and proposals.

Marketing Materials (10%)

  • Create donor-focused marketing materials (investment cases, impact briefs, sector positioning papers) to support proposals and pitches.
  • Develop high-quality, visually appealing materials that communicate impact and value proposition.
  • Ensure materials are evidence-based, using program data and success stories. Customize content for different donor profiles to maximize appeal and relevance.
  • A portfolio of compelling, high-quality marketing materials produced quarterly.
  • Positive donor feedback and increased engagement during pitches.
  • Evidence-based communication demonstrating measurable impact.
  • Enhanced consistency in organizational messaging.

Digital & Media Management (10%)

  • Design and manage digital marketing campaigns to enhance visibility and attract partners.
  • Use social media, email marketing, and digital platforms to showcase organizational impact in alignment with donor strategic focus in country.
  • Implement analytics tools to track engagement and optimize campaigns.
  • Coordinate with IT and design teams to maintain donor-focused landing pages and digital assets.
  • Improved digital presence and donor engagement rates.
  • Increased online visibility and traffic to donor-focused content.
  • Analytics data used to refine campaign effectiveness.
  • Consistent and up-to-date digital assets reflecting donor priorities.

Proposal/Concept Development (20%)

  • Collaborate with sectoral technical leads and the Resource Acquisition Lead to develop competitive and compliant concept notes, proposals, and expressions of interest.
  • Ensure marketing input strengthens storytelling, presentation, and donor alignment in all proposals.
  • Contribute to proposal budgets, ensuring donor-specific marketing and visibility costs are included.
  • Increased proposal win rate through stronger storytelling and donor alignment. Marketing inputs reflected in all major proposals.
  • Donor visibility and branding costs properly integrated into proposal budgets.
  • Enhanced organizational competitiveness in donor bids.

Internal Collaboration (10%)

  • Collaborate with resource mobilization teams to integrate marketing strategies into funding proposals and partnership negotiation.
  • Work closely with proposal writers to ensure marketing elements strengthen the case for support.
  • Provide marketing insights during donor meetings and negotiations.
  • Support development of partnership packages for corporates and strategic alliances.
  • Seamless coordination between marketing and resource mobilization teams.
  • Unified donor messaging across all proposal and negotiation processes.
  • Tailored partnership packages developed for key corporate donors.
  • Improved conversion from engagement to partnership.

Marketing Effectiveness (10%)

  • Monitor and report on marketing effectiveness, using analytics to optimize campaigns and donor engagement.
  • Regular performance reports produced and shared with leadership.
  • Measurable improvement in campaign ROI and engagement metrics.
  • Track KPIs such as donor engagement rates, campaign ROI, and conversion metrics.
  • Prepare quarterly performance reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and enhance resource mobilization outcomes.
  • Data-driven adjustments made to increase marketing efficiency.
  • Continuous enhancement of donor engagement and retention strategies.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Development or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in marketing, roles preferably in corporate CSR environment.

    Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Domestic Travel: 95% travel within Area Program and project areas is required.

  • On call: 5% in emergency situations, the position will be required to be on call.
