Purpose for the job

Under the supervision of the Fundraising Special -in dotted line with the Communications Specialist, the position will aim to:

General objective:

Consolidate a comprehensive line of communication aimed at raising funds for UNICEF, the loyalty and retention of its current individual and corporate donors.

Specific objectives:

a) Contribute to developing communication strategies to effectively communicate UNICEF actions in favor of children and adolescents in Peru, with a strong fundraising approach that motivates more people and/or companies to join as donors and allies.

b) Support the creation of communication strategies targeting current individual and corporate donors to reinforce their commitment to UNICEF's mission.

c) Provide digital advisory for the development of the PFP Digital Plan & Calendar

d) Contribute creatively to the development of communication materials used in the different acquisition and loyalty strategies.

e) Support the generation of content based on project inputs, team meetings, content committee, editorial committee, and trips to intervention areas. This in alignment with the information, analysis and data generated by programme specialists.

f) Support and evaluate the work of multiple design providers/consultants, advertising agencies and/or graphic design for online and offline products.

g) Coordinate with the Communication area the development of the necessary materials, complying with the specifications of data verification, editorial line, use of logo and care of the brand.

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks

Contribute to developing communication strategies, with a strong fundraising approach that enhances Individual Giving and Corporate/Major Donors strategies by:

• Assist in the development of communication campaigns and inputs for all individual fundraising channels (Face to Face, Telemarketing, Digital, DRTV and others) and for the loyalty of individual and corporate donors and maximization of their contributions.

• Assist in the development of creative and innovative content (scripts, key messages, social media packages, email communications) for F2F, telemarketing, digital, DRTV and other campaigns.

• Support in the validation of the PFP content needs with PFP Area and Programme.

• Participate in information, communications and programme meetings, the editorial committee and other events and presentations to get new information on the programme implementation and initiatives.

• Participate in the PFP emergency plan preparation.

Support the creation of communication strategies targeting current individual and corporate donors to reinforce their commitment to UNICEF's mission by:

• Co-develop materials, information, brochures and materials needed to reinforce the retention and commitment of individual donors, companies and major donors.

• Coordinate the generation of content for all retention strategies based on the needs of the Individual Giving and Corporate channels and the current programmatic offer implemented in the field and in global content channels

• Assist in providing technical support in the production of Annual Reports, Uni-News Magazine & newsletter and other ad-hoc materials

• Periodically assists in monitoring the pertinence and impact of the PFP communicational materials.

Provide digital advisory for the development of the PFP Digital Plan & Calendar by:

• Contribute to generating specific content and materials to improve the performance of the Digital Acquisition channel, proposing innovation, testing, monitoring and evaluation of results.

• Support analyzing the different PFP requirements to propose strategies, ideas and solutions that facilitate the Digital FR plans and results.

• Assist in providing performance reports and ad-hoc reports to inform about the impact and results of the different digital activities.

• Explain and present technical information in a clear way.

Contribute creatively to the development of communication materials used in the different acquisition and loyalty strategies by:

• Coordinating the conceptualization, production and approval of campaigns and graphic and audiovisual communication products.

• Coordinating inputs and contents for the newsletters for donors, UNINEWS and corporate newsletter, coordinate its design, layout and printing if appropriate.

• Assist in the creation of support materials for fundraisers: information on UNICEF actions; guidelines for handling objections; questions and answers; campaign presentations, among others.

Support the generation of content that strengthens the value proposition from UNICEF based on Programmes/Communications directions by:

• Assist in the development of an integrated work with the Communications and Programme areas to clearly understand the nature of UNICEF’s work in the country and identify opportunities for content generation.

• Support monitoring and ensuring that all materials, stories and information posted outside the organization comply with the brand specifications and are aligned with UNICEF’s vision and values.

• Assist in the quality control of all communication products in the area, including review of style, consistency and concordance.

• Support in the preparation of accountability reports for corporate donors and major donors.

• Assist coordinating with the Communication and Programme areas to obtain relevant information, learn about the priorities of each area and incorporate the perspective and needs of the collection area in communication products.

Support and evaluate the work of design providers/consultants, advertising agencies and/or graphic design for online and offline products by:

• Assist in coordinating the work of suppliers such as agencies, video producers, editors and others to comply with requirements from PFP, Comms and internal clients.

• Contribute checking that the different materials and content are validated as agreed.

• Contribute with the searching of agencies and providers to produce quality materials at reasonable costs.

• Support validating the annual special events plan and calendar.

• Periodically search for new ideas and potential partners, particularly digital FR events.

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

1. Education

Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to Marketing, Advertising, Communication, or related field.

2. Work Experience

A minimum of 6 years of professional of progressively responsible work experience in marketing, promotional or fundraising areas. Digital media is essential.

Knowledge of marketing campaign management processes

Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.

3. Language

Fluency in English and Spanish.
