OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The mission of WHO's Health Emergencies Programme (The Programme) is to help countries, and to coordinate international action, to prevent, prepare for, detect, rapidly respond to, and recover from outbreaks and emergencies.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  1. Prepare supplies for delivery, including offloading, physical handling, receiving, packing, wrapping,labelling and placing supplies sent to the warehouse according to the established procedures.
  2. Maintain the supplies and the warehouse tidy and clean.
  3. Assist in inspection of qty's/packages for both inbound and outbound shipments.
  4. Repair warehouse equipment as needed on regular basis, make other small repairs on urgent matters.
  5. Arrange for the necessary servicing on regular basis.
  6. When required, operate a variety of warehouse equipment andvehicles including official forklift and reachtrucks, maintain them in proper conditions.

    • Efficient maintenance of stores with minimal number of expired/damaged supplies.
    • Timely preparation of supplies for shipment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: Completion of secondary school education. Basic training on vehicle maintenance Desirable:

Experience

Essential: At least One year of experience in handling warehouses Desirable: Driving license of heavy equipment

Skills

  • Lifting heavy parcels to the warehouse
  • Ability to read, write and understand instructions in the working language both English and Arabic
  • Skills in minor vehicle repair in addition to knowledge of driving forklifts and reach trucks (Heavy vehicles)

REMUNERATION

WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at AED 145,905 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
