Job Overview:

The Experiential Marketing team, sitting within Marketing and Mobilization, brings together the Strategic Events and Entertainment Relations teams.

The Strategic Events team develops and implements high impact, thought leadership, stewardship, cultivation and fundraising events that introduce new audiences to IRC’s mission and engages current supporters with our work.

This role, Manager, Strategic Events, will be under the direction of the Senior Director of Experiential Marketing and will work with colleagues in International Partnerships and Philanthropy (IPP) and USA Philanthropy to consult, conceptualize and execute on events that engagement activities in support of achieving bold fundraising goals, profile-raising events and though-leadership opportunities. These events and activities will include those within the U.S. and abroad.

The successful candidate will be a teammate who is motivated, detail and solution oriented, creative and who thrives in a fast-paced office environment. The Manager, Strategic Events will possess the ability to effectively handle and efficiently prioritize multiple projects and work well with people at all levels of the organization.

Major Responsibilities:

• Run event processes from initiation to wrap up for events, including but not limited to the following:

• Support the development of concept notes and agenda including research as needed.

• Develop and maintain event project plans, event timelines and budgets.

• Lead event configuration in data and event management systems by building registration pages, emails, guest lists and reports etc.

• Collaborate with key internal collaborators to develop and manage invitation lists and RSVP tracking - provide regular updates to all partners.

• Manage collaboration with Content and Creative team on requested digital and printed collateral design: web banners, invitation emails, presentation, programs etc.

• Draft and route event copy: invitation emails, registration confirmation, reminders, event webpage and thank you notes as appropriate.

• Accurately and efficiently enter data to maintain constituent records.

• Run virtual event set up in webinar platform.

• Collaborate with internal teams on post-event wrap up report development.

• Support in the management of event budget.

• Coordinate logistics.

o Secure event space, AV etc.

o Prepare branding and event materials

o Handle the printing of materials as appropriate

o Run onsite event production

o Responsible for onsite registration and volunteer training/management

o Collaborate with fundraising partners on special projects as required.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 3 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated interest in event management, marketing and/or non profits is a plus

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

• Outstanding Microsoft Office and database management skills (Salesforce and/or Cvent experience preferred)

• Proven project and event management skills (in-person, hybrid and virtual) with the ability to balance multiple time-sensitive tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks appropriately

• Meticulous, showing persistence, patience, and resourcefulness around each task and project

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and diplomatically with donors, clients, colleagues, vendors, and consultants

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to think critically and problem solve quickly and effectively

• A great teammate able to work effectively with multicultural, global teams

• Dedication to respecting and maintaining confidentiality of information; and

• Passion for the IRC’s mission

• Language Skills: Fluent English.

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
