  • Master’s degree in Transport Planning, Urban Planning or Geo-informatics.
  • 7-10 years of work experience.
  • Experience in the field of bus based sustainable mobility and public transport projects.
  • Experience with preparation of tender document and bid management process.
  • Experience in development of proposal, client interaction and stakeholder consultation.
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
  • Proficiency in English (Writing and Verbal Skills).
  • Hands-on experience with spatial analytical tools like GIS, Vissum and any other open-source applications with ability to assess and generate data visualizations.

About your role:

Under WRI India’s sustainable cities program we use technical expertise, cutting-edge research and on-the-ground partnerships to design solutions that enable sustainable city growth. We collaborate with local and national decision-makers across states to implement projects that overcome the challenges of urbanization and make cities that are better for people. With this objective, WRI India is commencing its engagement with Government of India to work on various public transport related projects, in an initiative to support the Govt. in strengthening public transport and sustainable urban mobility services across India. We are looking for a candidate with considerable experience in the public transport sector with data analytics and mapping skills to help the team achieve this goal.

How your day will unfold:

You will be asked to undertake and oversee a range of responsibilities as are listed below:

Domain:

• Technical coordination for development of electric bus, sustainable urban mobility projects, public transport and bus priority strategy with WRI India partners.

• Technical advisory in development of public transport including electric buses and sustainable urban mobility projects.

• Lead engagement with different stakeholders including government authorities, private enterprises, academia, peer research organizations and think tanks, financiers and other partners to on decarbonizing public transport and adopt sustainable mobility initiatives.

• Policy analysis and development of methodologies to identify gaps and potential areas of reform.

• Lead the thinking and development of a strategy roadmap for electric buses in India.

General:

• Support with primary and secondary research including data collection process and practices.

• Support the team on development of strategies, research methodology and desired outputs of sustainable transport.

• Support on coordinating capacity building programs and workshops.

• Support team in engagement with multiple stakeholders and contributing to the project activities.

• Generate literature (like blogs/op-eds/case studies, etc.) to demonstrate expertise of WRI India.

• Management of donor relations and deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience requirement we seek:

• Bachelors’ Degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Planning.

• Master’s degree in Transport Planning, Urban Planning or Geo-informatics

• 7-10 years of work experience

• Experience in the field of bus based sustainable mobility and public transport projects.

• Experience with preparation of tender document and bid management process.

Salary and Benefits: 1500000-1800000

Salary shall be commensurate with experience. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.

Duration: 2 Year as term hire extendable based on performance and project requirements
