JOB PURPOSE

The MIS Officer will support the MIS Manager in designing, testing, implementing and rolling out of Mobile Data Collection (MDC) using CommCare platform in building the current piloting processes. The post holder will assist on mobile data collection (using CommCare Platform) tool in testing and documentation. Assist his/her supervisor in automating MIS system that includes data cleaning and visualization. Follow up and ensure the effective use of mobile data collection devices /tablets using dashboard device management technologies.

The post holder assists his/her supervisor installing apps in tablets, update database, modify, maintain, repair, and protect database and MIS systems to meet the needs of SPIR II requirements and expected to have good knowledge of data cleaning, visualization, and documentation. In collaboration with his/her supervisor, the post holder will keep the MDC tools/forms are documented. Document all the necessary tools, Standard Operating Procedures, testing documents, other requirement analysis & design documents, and make them readily available upon request.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Processing and Collection procedures

  • Assist in data verification, validation, consistency throughout the data collection and visualization process
  • Assist in building Data Collection Standard Operating Procedures [DSCSOP]
  • Ensure data collection to visualization processes are passing through the Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist in maintaining and work for implementation of MIS standard use policy
  • Assist in identifying and correcting data duplication
  • Assist in identifying redundant fields in the data collection tools

  • Verified data

  • Refined DSCSOP
  • Documented use polices

MIS system, Support, Mobile Device Management, and Visualization

  • Assist in testing CommCare system and overall MIS system
  • Assist in ensuring data collection tools are mapped properly with CommCare forms/ implemented tools
  • Assist in data transformation and visualization of data
  • Conduct simple data analysis and present findings
  • Closely work with his/her supervisor in data staging, storage, and backups
  • Closely work with his/her supervisor to give support for Mobile Data Collectors, and Mobile Device Management Technology/ies

  • Tested CommCare system and test result document

  • Report & Minute documents

Documentation

  • Involve in documenting test plans
  • File data and their supporting documents for evidence-based validity
  • Assist in documenting requirements analysis and design documents
  • Document DCSOPs and other MIS use policies and procedures
  • Prepare and submit the reports of the meetings, training, supervision, monitoring and
  • Assist in writing a document version of the MIS system
  • Assist in preparing MIS training materials and users’ manual
  • Other duties assigned by the supervisor

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Professional Experience

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in MIS System/ related

Minimum Education: BSC degree in Management Information System Software Engineering primarily or Computer Science

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

Education: BSc degree in Computer Science/ Information Systems/ Software Engineering

  • Experience in Mobile Data Collection platforms (in proprietary and/or open-source development platforms) such as CommCare, KoBo, etc.
  • Ability to quickly identify and grasp new tools and technologies.
  • Previous experience in DBMS systems such as SQL server, Access
  • Statistical analysis tools preferably Excel and/or SPSS
  • Good knowledge of Power Bi and/or Tableau
  • Good knowledge of Word, and Power Point
  • Experience in Tablaue is an added advantage
  • Previous experience in using programming languages for software development is an added advantage
  • Training, license, registration, and certification

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement : 15%

Language Requirement : Fluency in written and oral English
