KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Logistics Officer (Operations) is to provide a range of specialized support functions and lead a team performing standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities. This role reports to the Logistics Sector Coordinator. The Logistics Officer (Operations) will be assigned the following duties - Provide Coordination & Capacity Building including: • Contribute to the identification/assessment and prioritization of key logistics bottlenecks and gaps impeding the delivery of essential assistance by the humanitarian community. • Actively contribute with information sharing and coordination with partners and relevant others. • Plan, organize and present logistics training and workshops. • Plan and organize the update to supplier lists and market assessments on a regular basis. Contribute to, and operationalize preparedness and emergency response activities including: • The design and implementation of the Logistics Sector preparedness activities. • Provide risk analysis studies in order to identify priority actions and mitigation measures. • Coordinate emergency response logistics activities maintain adequate quantity of contingency stock of assets. Directly manage Logistics and Warehouse Operations including: • Directly supervise field logistics staff , support, monitor and report on staff performance with a strong focus on mentorship, empowerment and capacity strengthening. • Provide Administration Management & Reporting input including tracking of equipment, loans, storage and transport activities. • Maintain up to date supplies and maintenance and provide cost forecasts. • Must be prepared to deploy to other locations on short notice if required and perform other duties as required. • Perform other related duties as assigned.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Master’s or equivalent degree in one of the following disciplines: Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Production/Industrial Engineering or Management related topics is required. Experience: At least 8 years of experience in log/Supply with 3 years of experience in humanitarian agency is required.

Ideally the staff member should have experience in:

Humanitarian sector, preferably in the context of warehouse management, capacity strengthening and operations. Experience in working within international coordination systems and knowledge of the Cluster/sector system is required.

Languages: • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of local language will be an advantage
