Background/Context
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental organization that has been working for the rights, protection and rehabilitation of refugees and displaced persons in the Central African Republic on a continuous basis since 2014.
NRC operates in the areas of Education, Water and Sanitation, Shelter for Displaced Persons, Livelihoods and Protection. We have been present in the prefectures of Mambéré Kadei, Nana Grebizi, Bamingui Bangoura, Kémo, Ouaka, Basse-Kotto, Ombella Mpoko, Lobaye and in the eight communes of Bangui, in close collaboration with State services.
Following the Covid-19 pandemic which is also affecting the CAR, NRC is setting up emergency response activities (supply of drinking water and hygiene and sanitation equipment, rehabilitation of isolation centers, etc.) in this new crisis affecting the CAR
1. Role and responsibilities
The purpose of the Logistics Manager is to ensure the logistic set up is according to NRC standards and to support programme/project implementation.-
- Strong focus on system strengthening in field bases
- Develop clear warehousing system in line with NRC standards
- Improve on vehicle management for the country programme
- Submit monthly/annual reports to the Region and Oslo where necessary
- Ensure the Disposal of obsolete assets in the country programme
- Capacity building of the whole logistics team in the country programme
- Asset Management and Inventories carried according to the organizational calendar
- Design a strategy for evacuation on dormant stocks in the country programme
- Management of procurement both at the coordination level and field offices

2. Competencies
- Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a senior Logistics Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Professional capacity in French (written and verbal)
- Experience with start-up is a plus
- Experience in Central Africa is a plus
