INTERNSHIP PURPOSE

The intern will assist with the implementation of standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to support effective delivery of goods and services.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1. Provide support to logistics activities following standard and established processes. 2. Support with accounting, preparation of reports, processing of documentation and ensuring that all relevant records are maintained. 3. Assist in monitoring inventory management processes as well as stock. 4. Support with processing documentation for execution of logistics operations (e.g., customs clearance, invoice verification). 5. Other related duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate programme in logistics, procurement, business administration, finance, accounting or other relevant majors, from a recognized university, have completed at least two years of the programme and attended classes in the past 12 months; OR
  • Recently graduated from an undergraduate/graduate programme in logistics, procurement, business administration, finance, accounting or other relevant majors (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) from a recognized university and have attended classes in the last 12 months of enrolment in the university; OR
  • Be currently enrolled in a graduate programme (e.g. Master's degree) in logistics, procurement, business administration, finance, accounting or other relevant fields at a recognized university and have attended classes in the past 12 months;

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Knowledge of utilizing computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint etc.) • Ability to provide information using courtesy and tact. • Good attention to details

Languages:

• Fluency in English and Russian, knowledge of Tajik is an asset.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

- Interns will receive a monthly stipend as a contribution towards basic subsidence costs the amount of which varies from duty station to another; - WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs; - Depending on the duty station of assignment, WFP will reimburse travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country; - WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education.
