Overview

Coordinate logistics and procurement activities effectively.

You have:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a senior Logistician in a humanitarian / recovery context
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal
  • University degree in Supply Chain or a relevant subject.
  • Knowledge and experience of main donors logistics policies.
  • Knowledge of Logistics Management in the Sudan (particularly in the Darfur region)

  1. Role and responsibilities

The purpose of a Logistic Coordinator is to implement delegated area of logistic responsibility and deliver a variety of procurement and other logistics related activities, including management of warehouse, fleet, distribution and asset.

Generic responsibilities

  1. Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, SOP’s and donor requirements
  2. Implement NRC’s logistic systems and procedures at area level
  3. Coordinate timely operational planning and management of logistic activities
  4. Ensure that local SOP’s regulate procedures at field office level, and perform periodic checks
  5. Coordinate market assessment within the scope and request of programme/project developers
  6. Prepare and submit reports and analysis
  7. Ensure proper filing of all support documents
  8. Support line managers in procedures and require support team trainings related to logistic
  9. Line management of the logistic team including recruitment and performance management
  10. Provide anti-corruption, transparency and cost efficiency focus in all processes (e.g. in procurement, vehicle management, asset management)
  11. Ensure safe and efficient transport of staff and materials/goods
  12. Perform other duties, as assigned by Line Manager
  13. Contribute to implementation of Safe and Inclusive Programming Minimum Standards across your area of work.

Specific responsibilities

  1. Ensure the timely delivery of logistics support services to all NRC PS projects in Area office
  2. Provide technical guidance and training to AO procurement staff to effectively support ongoing projects
  3. Assist in logistics budget preparation and follow up and manage allocated budget lines
  4. Directly assisting and contributing to program and project design, including budget development
  5. In close coordination with programs ensure development of procurement plans for all ongoing grants in area office.
  6. Lead on NRC PS procurements in area office, ensuring compliance with NRC and donors policy. Monitor ongoing procurement
  7. Responsible for NRC PS assets management in area office, ensuring compliance with NRC and donors’ policy
  8. Ensure efficient fleet management for the area office and supervision of fleet assistant
  9. Adherence with formalized in country logistics policy documentation in line with NRC Global procedures
  10. Monthly report on key performance measures for all aspects of logistics activities and regularly review them against actual performance.
  11. Respond to audits as needed

Critical interfaces

  • Liaison with Area PMs & Programme staff to ensure that procurement plans are in place and up to date.
  • Liaison with other Support Managers/Coordinators (HR / Finance / Admin / IT/HSS) to ensure the logistics team are well supported in designated area office.
  • Close collaboration with the Country Logistics Manager to ensure effective roll out of new procedures and feedback on development of new policies and systems
  • Other NGOs and UN agencies to share best practice and lessons learned, and identify solutions to shared problems
