You have:

- Five years or more of progressively responsible experience in logistics and supply chain management.
- Experience of working in collaboration with a diverse array of stakeholders, including governments and the private sector.
- Experience in the management of logistics contracting.
- Experience with warehousing operations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required, including strong professional communication skills.
- Strong analytical and report writing skills.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently.
- Ability to work in a team and establish effective working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
- Advanced computer skills including Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Fluency in both oral and written communication in English. A good working knowledge in one of the Local Pacific languages is desirable.

BACKGROUND
The response to COVID19 has become a worldwide operation with most countries currently experiencing cases. Given the nature of COVID19, there have been significant shutdowns in many countries as well as the grounding international flights in most regions around the world. This is providing significant challenges for the response including difficulty in getting the right expertise into the right location, as well as a worldwide demand on a medical goods and personal protective equipment.
As part of the COVID response, WFP, as lead for the Regional Logistics Cluster, is currently undertaking the following work:
- Facilitating Regional logistics cluster meetings. Providing support to national logistics coordination mechanisms as required.
- Monitoring of the shipping sector across the Pacific in collaboration with partners.
- Monitoring of aircraft movements across the Pacific for both cargo and passenger movement.
- Provision of cargo consolidation hub in Nadi in support of the WFP-operated Pacific Humanitarian Air Service
The WFP-led Pacific Logistics Cluster is supporting the regional health response that is being led by WHO and the Health Ministries in country. In addition, WFP is operating the Pacific Humanitarian Air Service to address current gaps in air services.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support the Pacific Logistics Cluster for the COVID19 Pacific Response focusing on warehousing and cargo tracking.
- Manage the collection and collation of relevant response information including the tracking of pipelines, freight and warehousing requirements.
- Maintain and manage the Logistics Cluster cargo tracking system.
- Prepare accurate and timely reports on Pacific activities to enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
- Establish and manage important stakeholder relationships with service providers where appropriate.
- Identify and build effective relationships and partnerships with counterparts in UN agencies, NGOs, governments and the private sector to share knowledge and resources to ensure a coordinated logistics response.
- Coordinate and manage service providers, port, fleet and warehouse operations to promote safe, efficient planning and execution of Logistics Cluster operations.
- Liaise and engage with the regional Logistic Cluster Coordinator to ensure appropriate and relevant technical guidance and support is available for the development and implementation of all logistics response plans.
- Responsible for incorporating gender perspectives in all areas of work, to ensure equal participation of women and men.
- Deploy to Pacific countries to support logistics coordination mechanisms during their COVID-19 response, if required.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in logistics is an advantage.
Experience:
- Five years or more of progressively responsible experience in logistics and supply chain management.
- Experience of working in collaboration with a diverse array of stakeholders, including governments and the private sector.
- Experience in the management of logistics contracting.
- Experience with warehousing operations.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills required, including strong professional communication skills.
- Strong analytical and report writing skills.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently.
- Ability to work in a team and establish effective working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
- Advanced computer skills including Windows and Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
- A general knowledge of the policies of the United Nations system would be an asset.
- Experience with logistics in humanitarian responses and the Inter Agency Standing Committee Cluster system.
Language:
- Fluency in both oral and written communication in English. A good working knowledge in one of the Local Pacific languages is desirable.
