BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Logistics Assistant for CBT will work in the Field Office – Logistics Section and in collaboration with other units of WFP. This post is under the direct supervision of the Head of Supply chain (FO), with technical interaction and reporting to the Program Officer (CBT) at the Gaziantep FO. At this level, job holders are responsible for the completion of a range of specialized and/or standardized processes and activities requiring some interpretation of standard guidelines and practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to other support staff. They work under minimum supervision, perform basic analyzes and compile reports to support information consistency and smooth implementation of programmes/projects.

JOB PURPOSE

To perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Within delegated authority, the Logistics Assistant (CBT) will be responsible for the following duties: 1. Assist Supply Chain CBT in increasing the number of contracted shops: in analysing the beneficiaries/shop situation in the respective area of responsibility, targeting the areas where competition is needed, assisting in the follow-up of targets. 2. Manage coordination and communication with WFP partners on the management of retailer document collection, onboarding, and contracts. 3. Oversee micro retailer capacity assessments. 4. Oversee regular monitoring visits by WFP partners to contracted retailers in regard to shop performance. Provide feedback to the FO and Supply Chain CBT, by regularly compiling issue matrices, in close collaboration with M&E and WFP partners. 5. Monitor and compare shop prices collected by WFP and its partners, and follow up with retailers, providing capacity building on how prices can be improved. 6. Working on daily basis with the retailers, perform the reconciliation of commodities and invoices. 7. Process invoices respond to retailers queries, assist in the monitoring of retail payments and provide ad-hoc reports. 8. Certify retailer invoices against the appropriate supporting documentation. 9. Assist with the completion of retailer performance evaluations 10. Provide CBT updates, data and reports upon request. 11. Assist with the retailer capacity building

12. Ensure that internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are maintained.

13. Provide technical inputs to the FO’s contingency plans, especially in relation to commodity vouchers. 14. If applicable, support the CBT unit in the design and implementation of commodity voucher programme, acting as a focal point with the Supply Chain unit in the FO. 15. Any other duties as required

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable. Experience: At least 5 or more years of relevant work experience. Experience in logistics for CBT and retailers management. Experience and proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc. Knowledge & Skills: • Has experience in food assistance and food security programmes in emergency settings • Has experience with project support and managing project budgets • Has worked with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, VAM, etc.) • Has contributed to implementation of programs • Has observed or assisted with policy discussions

Languages: Fluency in English and very good command of Turkish and Arabic.
