ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The Logistics Assistant for CBT will work in the Field Office – Logistics Section and in collaboration with other units of WFP. This post is under the direct supervision of the Head of Supply chain (FO), with technical interaction with the Programme Officer (CBT) at the Gaziantep FO.

JOB PURPOSE

To perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Assist Supply Chain CBT in increasing the number of contracted shops: in analysing the beneficiaries/shop situation in the respective area of responsibility, targeting the areas where competition is needed, assisting in the follow-up of targets.
  • Manage coordination and communication with WFP partners on the management of retailer document collection, onboarding, and contracts.
  • Oversee micro retailer capacity assessments.
  • Oversee regular monitoring visits by WFP partners to contracted retailers in regard to shop performance. Provide feedback to the Field Office and Supply Chain CBT, by regularly compiling issue matrices, in close collaboration with M&E and WFP partners.
  • Monitor and compare shop prices collected by WFP and its partners, and follow up with retailers, providing capacity building on how prices can be improved.
  • Working on daily basis with the retailers, perform the reconciliation of commodities and invoices.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (Cont)

  • Process invoices respond to retailers queries, assist in the monitoring of retail payments and provide ad-hoc reports.
  • Certify retailer invoices against the appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Assist with the completion of retailer performance evaluations.
  • Provide CBT updates, data and reports upon request.
  • Assist with the retailer capacity building.
  • Ensure that internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are maintained
  • Provide technical inputs to the Field Office’s contingency plans, especially in relation to commodity vouchers.
  • If applicable, support the CBT unit in the design and implementation of commodity voucher programme, acting as a focal point with the Supply Chain unit in the Field Office.
  • Any other duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.

Experience: Three or more years of relevant work experience.Exprience in logistics for CBT and retailers management. Exprience and proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc. Language: Fluent (level C) English and Turkish in both oral and written communication.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Has experience in food assistance and food security programmes in emergency settings.
  • Has experience with project support and managing project budgets.
  • Has worked with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, VAM, etc.
  • Has contributed to implementation of programs.
  • Has observed or assisted with policy discussions

Eligibility: Turkish nationals or those holding a valid Turkish residency permit.
