The Logistics Assistant and Driver reports to the Chief, Representative Office in Cairo and receives additional guidance from the Special Assistant.

Responsibilities Acts as the custodian of the vehicle assigned to him/her and ensures relevant transport documents, including Daily Work Tickets, are properly completed in accordance with instructions; undertakes overall responsibility for the clearance of office vehicle with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Customs and Traffic Departments, as well as marine ports, finalization of inspection requests and completing the required forms, as appropriate, in addition to issuance/renewal of vehicle permits, vehicle insurance and staff airport passes.

Acts as the focal point with communications companies (mobile, landline and internet), settling monthly payments, responding to queries and resolving related difficulties facing ROCA staff.

Meets official personnel at the airport and finalizes relevant procedures with the Airport Authority and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure availability of internal transport; and open VIP lounge and other required services, as appropriate.

In response to enquiries from other Fields on the authenticity of medical reports submitted for claims, contacts and follows up with medical facilities in Egypt for verification purposes and reports back to the requesters.

Supports the Special Assistant in all administrative and clerical tasks as requested, including: - Clearing UNRWA procured equipment, making minor purchases, collecting urgent purchases from local suppliers. - Assisting in payment to vendors and individual contractors for goods and services. - Scanning, copying, collating, binding, filing and/or distributing documents.

Makes deliveries of parcels, documents and other relevant materials, between ROCA and other offices and institutions, including ministries, embassies, UN agencies and other entities in Egypt, as required.

Drives the Agency vehicle, attending to all trips as requested by the supervisor, taking into consideration all safety measures including selecting the most convenient routes, ensuring that all instructions regulating driving behavior and Rules of the road are strictly followed; ensures timely renewal of his/her driving license.

Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned vehicle, ensuring its full functioning at all times, including: - Checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, regularly and as per the technical instruction. - Arranging for major repairs, ensuring the most economical and preventive services is approached. - Performing minor repairs, as appliable.

Education Completion of secondary education and at least a one-year diploma in business and office practice or a similar field.

Job - Specific Qualification A valid professional driving license and general basic knowledge of all types of vehicles is required.

Work Experience At least four years of experience in driving vehicles and providing basic office support is required.

Experience in minor vehicle maintenance is required.

Completion of secondary education and at least a one-year diploma in business and office practice or a similar field is required.

Previous experience with UN, NGOs, Embassies or other relevant entities is desirable.

Languages Fluency in Arabic and basic knowledge of English.

Special Notice Conditions of service:

Contract Type: Fixed Term Appointment for 3 years; including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and continuing need.

- Grade and Salary, Grade 8 (Egypt/Cairo): Monthly basic salary $ 884.80.

Other benefits: Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15.4% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable).

This vacancy notice is open to internal and external candidates.
