Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the office of the of the Chief Mission Support Centre and the candidate will be reporting to the Logistics Officer.

Responsibilities Supply - Assists new mission survey/start-up teams with respect to property and inventory control; surveys contingent owned equipment, evaluates requirements and recommends additions and deletions to Strategic Deployment owned equipment and commodities. - Provides contract management support to more senior Supply Officers. - Verifies funding, bidding, evaluation and certifies invoices with respect to requisitions. - Acts as primary focal point for the production of field mission cost estimates.

Transport - Undertakes research with respect to the preparation and compilation of the Mission Support Division Reports. - Assists in the execution of technical evaluations for long and short-term contracts. - Assists Logistics Officers in researching and obtaining data and documents related to field Missions. - Provides technical assistance with respect to vehicle insurance and vehicle database operation. - Maintains liaison with relevant departments and fields offices with respect to the status of UNIFIL positions in the Area of Operations.’

General - Organizes meetings to include stake holders and prepare minutes of meetings when required. - Assists with the management of land acquisition and divestiture between the United Nations and the Government of Lebanon. - Designs and develops relevant databases. - Maintains and updates records of UNIFIL positions by obtaining detailed photographic and written evidence such as measurements, condition and disposition of the property when required. - Performs other duties as required.

Education High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Job - Specific Qualification A valid driving license is required.

Work Experience At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience of practical field logistics operations is required.

Experience of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

Experience in logistics management with respect to real estate is required.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
