Org. Setting and Reporting This position is within the United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission for Sudan located in Khartoum. The incumbent of the post will report to the Warehouse Manager.

Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the Logistics (Warehouse) Assistant will be responsible for the following duties: (These duties are generic and may not be carried out by all Logistics (Warehouse) Assistants.)

Supply: Assists in the preparation of logistics plans and cost estimates. Assists the mission with respect to property and inventory control.

Records contract actions and monitors activity. This includes coordinating with missions on delivery schedules, follow-up and receipt of Receiving and Inspection (R&I) Reports, verification of invoices against R&I reports, recording contract status at all stages of processes.

Controls and manages supply related items requisitioning and delivery

Business Intelligence:

Identify information sources from Enterprise Recourse Planning (ERP), to capture required data for end-to-end Supply Chain business performance.

Assist to extract, analyze and integrate data to develop operational, analytics and strategic reporting solution..

Assist to produce timely and actionable information which help drive the business results and guide decision making process. Devise and contribute to promote effective analytics models and creative data visualizations to derive actionable intelligence and enable management decision.

Ensure that Enterprise Recourse Planning (ERP) activities for end-to-end processes, are monitored continuously and provide actionable directives to relevant offices/units.

Act as focal point for producing accurate report and submit to Chief Mission Support through Audit Processes.

General

Assist with the receipt of authorized on-line requisitions for stores supplies from Chiefs of Section /Unit; verify the requisitions and issue in accordance with Sections'/Units' monthly requirements; Ensure that supplies are issued to requesting offices/Sections as per approved requisitions without delay.

Assist with the monitoring of stock of supplies in the stores; Advice on supplies which require stock replenishment in a timely manner.

Assist to ensure that items in the warehouse stores are arranged in an orderly manner;.

Assist to formulate and monitors budget allocations.

Assist to maintain accurate allocation and control of all equipment and stores received, stored and distributed by the mission.

Assist to ensure that accurate and complete accounting, reporting and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are maintained

Develops and updates relevant software for tracking, reconciliation purposes.

Performs other duties as required.

Education High school or equivalent diploma is required. Technical or vocational certificate in at least one of the following areas: business administration, logistics management, inventory management and supply management is desirable.

Work Experience A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in supply services, inventory management, procurement, logistics, project management or related area.

Experience in supporting supply services in support of or in a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization is desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English and Arabic is required.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
