This UNV assignment is located in the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia, in various locations. The incumbent is responsible for the completion of a variety of specialized Mission Support activities enabling and maintaining a smooth operation in the area of responsibility. Emphasizing in the three mains subjects of the portfolio: planning, operational and reporting. Additionally, the Logistics Assistant at this level will report to the Regional Administrative Officer (RAO - NOP), at the Regional Office.

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Administrative Officer, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for the following duties:

• Support coordination efforts in the Regional Offices and ensure the provision of logistical support services to staff deployed in support of the expanded mandate. • Field logistics management functions: including monitoring the proper functioning of the vehicle fleet and fuel control, as well as maintaining the good condition of office facilities, furniture and other equipment, and supporting the development of field staff missions, all these functions in coordination with the Life Support Unit, Transport Unit and Engineering Unit, among others, at HQ.
• In addition, national UNV will support the logistics plans, deployment for planned or new operations. • Participates and ensures the development of logistics emergency, contingency plans and identifies ways to overcome obstacles when delivering goods. • Other related tasks as needed.

Previous experience in SAP system or a similar system is desirable. Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing; Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development. Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel. Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment. Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines. Sound security awareness.
