Overview

Implement and coordinate livelihood projects effectively.

You have:

  • Minimum 2 years of practical experience in sector area working for an INGO.
  • Relevant university degree (e.g. political science, international development, or economics) or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Excellent skill in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in Ukrainian language.
  • Fluency in Russian language.
  • Advanced English proficiency is necessary required.

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been operating in Ukraine since 2014 and is currently scaling up its operation in Ukraine to deliver lifesaving assistance and emergency response to people affected by the war.

Overall purpose of the role

  • Under the supervision of and together with and Team Leader ensure the quality of the planning, implementation / coordination and follow up of all technical aspects of the activities being implemented by DRC under USAD project, namely when working with grant program component.
  • Under the supervision of Economic Recovery Team Leader work on building and maintaining good relations with the technical team that co-implements grant component, to support its adequate implementation and coordination within.
  • Sector responsibilities: participation in business grant implementation process.

Geographic scope: Chernihiv

This role has a base focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines at base level. The role contributes to the implementation and adherence to base strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks.

Main responsibilities

Programming & Operations

  • Under the supervision of and together with Economic Recovery Team Leader ensure efficient and effective program implementation while following the budget and work plan
  • Participate in preparing monthly/quarterly/annual highlights/reports for donors
  • Carry out monitoring and evaluation exercises

Coordination and representation

  • Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts / colleagues on grant component implementation issues
  • Represent DRC during the events and working meetings
  • Ensure integration with other DRC sectors

Project development

  • Co-implement project plans and budgets for funding
  • Co-develop and use projects tools
  • Project implementation and reporting
  • Monitor and evaluate projects

Logistics/Finance

  • Support the monitoring of financial commitments and expenditures against budgets and provide timely feedback on budget follow-up
  • Provide assistance in planning and coordinating logistics and movements of staff from and to different operational areas
  • Provide assistance in procurements and ensure their execution

Supervisor responsibilities:

• Does not have direct line management responsibility for staff.

Required experience and competencies

Advanced English proficiency is necessary required.

  • Minimum 2 years of practical experience in sector area working for an INGO
  • Field experience
  • Excellent skill in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian languages

Required education

Relevant university degree (e.g. political science, international development, or economics) or equivalent professional qualification

We offer:

  • Contract length: 3 months with possibility of extension based on available funding.
  • Level H
  • Start date: As soon as possible

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National Staff.
