What you will do:

  1. Develop and implement a needs- and evidence-based response strategy for Livelihoods and Food Security in all areas of Ukraine, across all response phases, and including the scale-up from the current level of programming
  2. Oversee the mainstreaming of NRC and Cluster technical quality minimum standards for Livelihoods and Food Security throughout all stages of the programme cycle
  3. Facilitate food insecurity, livelihoods and agricultural assessments (including tool design) to support identification of the needs of affected population at different stages of displacement
  4. Provide technical direction, support and capacity-building to Area-based Livelihoods and Food Security programme staff and, where relevant, NRC’s partners
  5. Ensure the consideration and inclusion of market-systems based approaches within the LFS responses and, where appropriate, cash- and voucher-based modalities
  6. Contribute to designing and implementing integrated programming with other Core Competencies – ICLA, Education, WASH, Shelter and Settlements, Protection and UDOC
  7. Oversee the design of technically-sound, locally-appropriate LFS component of fundraising proposals, including the engagement of local or other technical actors where appropriate
  8. Support the incremental integration of NRC Minimum Environmental Requirements
  9. Support the mainstreaming of Safe and Inclusive Programming (SIP) guidelines within the Livelihoods and Food Security response
  10. Facilitate and participate in after action reviews and programmatic lessons-learned workshops at Area and Country level

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience within technical expertise area in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Technical expertise in food assistance and livelihoods emergency response
  • Experience overseeing and managing market-based approaches and rehabilitation of agri-food systems
  • Experience in urban livelihoods renewal and facilitating access to employment within a humanitarian setting
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge and skills in market analysis, cash- and voucher-based interventions and market-based programmes
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal

What We Offer

  • Duty station: Kyiv - Ukraine
  • Contract duration: 12 months fixed term-renewable subject to performance, structure and funds availability
  • Travel : up to 30% within Ukraine
