TITLE: Livelihood and Private Sector Engagement Coordinator TEAM/PROGRAMME: Operation /Partnership LOCATION: Greater Cairo GRADE: 5 CONTRACT LENGTH: Until 31st of December 2024

Possibility to extend to December 2025 based on performance.

Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The livelihood and Private Sector Engagement Coordinator will be supporting the livelihood Officer in mapping and engagement with Egyptian business incubators in addition to managing the full process of hiring incubators to host refugees and migrant program graduates. The post holder will provide technical support and leadership to two business development and market linkage community coaches. S/he will play a key role in coordinating with the livelihoods coordinator and under the supervision of the project officer to provide access for program graduates to open days, summits, and selling events in addition to market linkage services. S/he will provide support based on need to engage private sector employers to create opportunities for refugees and migrants, including apprenticeship and job placement opportunities.

Projects Scope:

This project is funded by multiple donors seeking to assist youth and adults among asylum seekers, migrants and members from the host community aged 18-35 in Greater Cairo to receive better protection services aiming to empower them for successful transition to self-reliance, access income generation activities and integrate within the local communities.

During phase one, the project succeeded in providing a full livelihoods program to a total number of 284 beneficiaries in addition to providing two partner NGOs with production units to support partners' sustainability and offering apprenticeship opportunities for the target beneficiaries.

This announcement for project phase two with three main outcomes; 1) Partners support: A) Support one of the local partners with coaching and guidelines to successfully manage the production unit.

B) Support partner NGO to deliver full livelihood intervention for 160 beneficiaries.

2)Livelihoods Interventions: A) (Phase one graduates) Support livelihoods program graduates to connect with the Egyptian ecosystem and private sector by receiving financial and non-financial support provided by one of the Egyptian incubators. In addition to linking them with open days, summits, etc supporting their visibility and increasing their selling channels.

B) (New beneficiaries) providing a full livelihoods program for a total number of 350 Beneficiaries aged 18-35 in Greater Cairo supporting them to receive; 1) Life Skills for Success training 2) Coaching to choose the fit livelihoods track 3) Technical capacity strengthening readiness for the chosen livelihoods track; business training or employability skills and/or vocational training. 4) Matching with income-generating activity either wage or self-employment. (apprenticeship or seed funding). 5) Receive coaching and mentorship for 3 to 6 months.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Operations Planning and Implementation

Project Implementation:

· Support the Livelihood Officer to identify Egyptian business incubators.

· Assist the Livelihood Officer to pilot a refugee and migrant start-up incubation program.

· Assist in organizing and facilitating business roundtable discussions and one-on-one meetings with the identified incubators to introduce them to refugee communities in Egypt, their potential, needs, and relevant industries.

· Work closely with incubators in designing pathways for refugees and migrants to integrate into the local economy, providing guidance on inclusive practices and support mechanisms.

· Collaborate with the Livelihood Officer to hire an incubator to provide financial and non-financial support for Save the Children livelihood program alumni, ensuring alignment with program objectives and requirements.

· Support the creation of comprehensive case studies and document lessons learned from the pilot program, analyzing successes and challenges encountered in integrating refugee youth into existing Egyptian business incubators.

· Support refugee youth in participating in business summits, incubation open days, and other relevant events to increase their visibility and enhance opportunities for engagement with potential employers and partners.

· Assist the Livelihood Officer in identifying private sector employers and establishing relationships with them to create opportunities for refugees and migrants, including apprenticeship and job placement opportunities.

· Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the pilot program, gathering feedback from stakeholders and beneficiaries to inform program adjustments and improvements.

Documentation and reporting:

· Ensure information is captured accurately on our data collection system.

· Ensure that filing system is in place and maintain up-to-date, well-organized and accurate case files and records.

· Prepare monthly field activities and achievements’ reports.

· Lead on the MEAL activities in the component in coordination with the MEAL unit.

In case of Emergency:

· Promote children's rights, contributing to their well-being and protection in times of emergencies, guided by humanitarian principles and code of conduct.

· During emergencies, he/she should act in a way that facilitates SCI’s response to emergencies, giving priority to all assigned.

· Be prepared to support SCI interventions in response to emergencies and show needed flexibility.

General:

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s level degree in a relevant subject (Business Administration, PR or equivalent field experience).

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in livelihood projects (Understanding livelihoods context in Egypt).

· Background working with Egyptian business incubators is and edge

· Good knowledge of computer programs (Excel, Spreadsheets, accounting programs, etc).

· Flexibility, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and set priorities;

· Good knowledge of child safeguarding will be an added advantage; and Commitment to Save the Children values.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

· Ability to deliver training and critically think about the materials’ content and contextualization to the targeted beneficiary.

· Ability to network, follow-up and advocate with different service providers.

· Ability to speak with participants' one on one or to large groups.

· Ability to prepare flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans.

· Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) and good in English is required.
