Develop training and outreach material for new MEPs on UN mandates
You have:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in communication, human rights, international relations, public administration or related field.
- A first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in public information, journalism, international relations, public administration or related area is required.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French is desirable.
- Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.

Result of Service
Develop training and outreach material for newly elected members of the European Parliament (elections in June 2024) about the normative mandate of OHCHR and other UN agencies as relevant to the work of the European Parliament, including international human rights law, and international humanitarian law.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Review material already produced for previous European Parliament election and other relevant material. • Undertake a needs assessment with current members of the European Parliament to identify gaps and needs. • Reach out to European Union Institutions, including the European Parliament to ensure relevance of material produced, and user-friendliness of formats to be produced (paper, on-line, mobile device, easy to read). • Collaborate with other UN agencies, especially those with normative mandates. • Engage with colleagues in Geneva and New York to gather substantive input. • Outreach to other relevant entities, such as ENNRHI, FRA, civil society.
