ing, and inspiring diverse and interested audiences.

Why we are recruiting

The Group is expanding and consolidating its strategy. It is composed of four key functions: Communication Strategy and Coordination, Public Engagement, Media Engagement, and Stakeholder and Staff Engagement. It is searching for an experienced and dynamic Lead Producer to join the Public Engagement function’s Video & Design team and support our daily video production operation. Reporting Lines & Interactions The role will report to the Head of Video. Internally, it will liaise with key counterparts from the broader Global Communications Group team as well as other Forum institutional teams. The role will also require managing relationships with external creative talent and freelancers as well as guiding them on projects and event productions.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead commissioning and production of all branded (“institutional”) content, working closely with the Creative Lead and Head of Video on strategy and implementation.
  • Oversee narrative approaches, shape content and guide storytelling, including by conducting interviews and writing scripts.
  • Help develop and implement new formats for our various audiences, including by pitching and producing various types of videos.
  • Develop clear video goals that are consistent with needs and institutional priorities, identify assignments, collaborate with Production Lead to allocate appropriate resources, and manage deadlines.
  • Ensure editorial quality and consistency of all institutional video content, maintaining brand identify and tone, while being well-informed of the latest trends and development in the field.
  • Manage and maintain clear up-to-date production workflows and trackers, in collaboration with Production Lead and video producers.
  • Manage and guide internal and external production resources engaged on these projects.
  • Collaborate closely with the different Public Engagement teams to optimize production outputs and produce a coherent and efficient overall brand narrative.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the Global Communication Group teams to find collaborative ways to visually communicate institutional priorities.
  • Work across in-house teams and in collaboration with relevant GCG colleagues to establish clear deliverables, responsibilities, and timelines.

The successful candidate will be assessed on

  • Excellent visual storyteller, capable of defining and defending creative visions.
  • Well-versed in building narratives using a wide range of mediums (animation, interviews, short doc etc), shaping diverse types of stories.
  • Fluency in the digital video space, developed understanding of online news cycle and proven ability to tell stories catering to different audiences, from social media to high-level conferences.
  • Excellent knowledge of visual communication approaches, tools, and methodologies essential to planning and executing creative work
  • Excellent knowledge of international news and major complex issues
  • Ability to take charge in stressful situations and under tight deadlines, and exercise sound editorial judgment regardless of the environment.
  • Able to juggle competing demands without compromising output quality or storytelling.
  • Experienced team player with great ability work collaboratively and to rapidly analyse and integrate diverse information from varied sources.
  • Ability to work independently and willingness to take on new challenges and innovate.
  • Track record of managing organized and at scale production processes and outputs

Qualifications and skills

  • Master’s degree in journalism or visual communications. Candidates who have completed digital accreditations or taken different routes to upskilling are welcome to apply.
  • At least 7 years of experience producing high profile, quality video content (TV or digital), preferably for a news organization.
  • Experience producing end-to-end video content and managing production teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex themes, the global landscape and a strong mission orientation aligned with the Forum’s objectives.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good knowledge of studio operations and experience in producing for TV
  • Good working knowledge of editing tools like Adobe Premiere, After Effects and photoshop
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in other languages a valued asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
