This position will be a hybrid requiring a few days per week in office. You will be based in our office in The Hague, Netherlands. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission as WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

About the Program:

Restore Local, part of The Audacious Project’s 2023 cohort, provides Restoration Champions across the continent with the support they need. Building on the African Forest Landscape Restoration Initiative (AFR100), founded in 2015, the four-year project will restore Africa’s vital landscapes by investing in locally led restoration at scale.

Job Highlight:

Reporting to the Strategic Communications Manager, Restore Local, you will lead on all design and content creation for the Global Restoration Initiative’s Restore Local project in Africa. You will be supported by the WRI Africa communications team and a potential intern.

What will you do:

Lead and develop content creation for Restore Local (40%)

  • Creating and maintaining the Canva platform
  • Design and produce artwork for Restore Local based on the new brand identity
  • Develop and design social media posts and presentations

Internal communication and donor engagement (30 %)

  • Design year reports for donors
  • Develop videos for donor communications
  • Design brochures for Restore Local
  • Manage and design internal Restore Local update newsletters

Film and documentary development and art direction (30 %)

  • Work with local creators across Africa to produce documentaries and films for Restore Local
  • Design artwork for these films and their supporting campaigns

What will you need:

  • Education: You have completed a bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Experience: You have 6+ years of relevant work experience, including in strategic design, and video and film production and design
  • Experience developing and managing complex design projects and working with teams across different disciplines to create results
  • Experience working with Canva
  • Experience designing and producing videos
  • Languages: You are proficient in verbal and written English
  • Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position is based. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization.

Potential Salary:

€57,000 – €68,000

Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
