Layout design in Arabic for the BWC brochure

In March 2022, the Implementation Support Unit for the Biological Weapons Convention (ISU) and the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) issued the publication 'The Biological Weapons Convention, An Introduction' https://www.un.org/disarmament/publications/the-biological-weapons-convention/. The brochure exists is translated into the six UN official languages. At this point it has become necessary to update the brochure in all six UN official languages, including Arabic.

We are looking for a volunteer specialising in producing layouts Adobe InDesign. The main task is to update several pages of a Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) publication in Arabic using the English original version and instructions given.

The successful candidate will support the BWC within the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (Geneva Branch) in its Communications & Outreach activities.

Candidates should have professional graphic design skills or background, with previous experience in layout, have in-depth knowledge of the Adobe InDesign. A degree in graphic design or any related field is considered an asset.

Candidates should be proficient in both Arabic and English. Knowledge of Arabic as a mother tongue would be an advantage

Candidates should be driven by the interest to learn more about the BWC, as well as the wish to further promote the Convention and UN values.
