Overview

Create infographics and layout documents for the Integrated programme on hazardous chemicals.

You have:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to graphic design.
  • Two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree.
  • Experience working in/with UN agencies or with Minamata Convention issues is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
  • Experience working on chemicals and waste management topics is desirable.

Result of Service

Original infographics are prepared on the Integrated programme (IP) on eliminating hazardous chemicals from supply chains. Launch report and project steering committee report of the IP is prepared with full layout, graphic design figures or infographics developed. Original infographics are prepared on the topic of mercury pollution, including e.g., artisanal and small-scale gold mining and its overlap with biodiversity and mercury containing skin lighting products.

Duties and Responsibilities

The tasks and responsibilities of the Individual contractor will be as follows: • Creation of a visual concept and a layout template for the IP Launch report and project steering committee report. • Final layout of the documents completed with changes from the report editors and internal reviews. • Creation of Integrated Programme infographics. • Creation of mercury pollution infographics, illustrations, and communication briefs related to mercury is skin lightening products and Global Mercury Partnership. • Coordinate deliverables and timeline with the Secretariat of the Minamata Convention on Mercury. • Design, produce, and submit the listed deliverables as conceptualized and agreed with the Secretariat of the Minamata Convention on Mercury. • All deliverables in pdf and raw files must be submitted and be adaptable for social media. In addition, the ICA will provide further support as required and requested by the Programme Management Officer.

Qualifications/special skills

• Academic: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a field related to graphic design. Two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree. Experience working in/with UN agencies or with Minamata Convention issues is an advantage. Experience working on chemicals and waste management topics is desirable.

Languages

o English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
