The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Vientiane, Lao PDR, requires an experienced and qualified Lao National to fill the position of Finance Assistant, at GS-4 level to be based in UNICEF Country Office in Vientiane, Lao PDR.

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks:

  1. Assist in the review for compliance with the rules of all documents submitted to Finance unit.
  2. Organize and secure a proper filing system is in place for all finance documents.
  3. Assist Finance unit -as follows:
  • Submit to all bank transfer letters to the bank
  • Emboss stamp to all payments
  • Bank transfer letter which is generated from the system
  • Cheque US$ and KIP
  • Stamp (Master Copy/Paid/Bank receipt attached) all documents pertaining to financial transactions.
  1. Backing the (GS-6) Finance Associate.
  2. Support programme Section with HACT spot checks, DCT and other support related to the management of cash assistance.
  3. Performs other duties as required by supervisors.

Qualifications and experience:

Education:

- Completion of secondary education supplemented by recognized accounting qualifications.

Professional experience:

- Minimum of 5 years office in Finance and Accounting clerical work.

Language:

- Fluency in English and Lao is required.
